Mava i posted a few places I found online with good reviews also in the other thread.

Like i said when you call a place for an appointment, tell them you just need a compression test (wet and dry) and leak-down test performed, and that you want the valve cover taken off and the head inspected for cracks. That is all.

You can get the block(sniffer) test done as well, but it may be a moot point since it's obvious where the coolant is going. I already verified no leaks.

Back from the interview....I think it went well. They want my references and want to bring me on site to meet the crew. All good signs.

Back on the Jeep topic...

Anyone got a spare throttle body laying around? I have a drill press and the right tools to bore them out, but I want to try on an extra before I do my own.

If I am successful, I will do it for free for the person who comes up with one.

Preferably 91-94, one that DOES NOT have the MAP sensor on it.

THANKS!!

Below is the list of things that need to be done...Thanks in advance for your referrals

*Be sure flexplate bolts are not loose
*Another COMPREHENSIVE look for an anti-freeze leak. Get underneath the vehicle that is hot and fully pressurized with a good light, paying special attention to the seams on the radiator, a very common failure point for a vehicle of this vintage
*Pull the spark plugs for inspection and cylinder by cylinder comparison as fishtaconc mentioned
*Pull valve cover for a closer look for a cracked head
*Cooling system pressure test
*Block test (sniff coolant for the presence of hydrocarbons) At a shop, or Napa sells a kit for around $40
*Compression testing. Although this is not a good test for a cracked head, it is still a good data point on general engine condition
*Cylinder leakdown test
My buddy is a mechanic. He works on my XJ and he has an ZJ and TJ. Very familiar with jeeps but he is in Gaithersburg.
