why is it every time the jeep starts to be good and run fine something goes wrong....

oil dripping slowly from the oil filter adapter so i get a set of seals from jeep this morning figured 1 bolt get it off new seals fill oil back up and be done.

well had to run to store to get t60 torx hammered it out of socket and put it on the adapter tired turning it would not budge. so i grabbed a cheater bar and slid it over the 12mm wrench and it striped part of the bolt out... So now I have no clue how the hell i am going to get this out and put new O rings in. Any ideas? I tried a T55 it grabs in there but with how tight the bolt is it wont work.

it stripped the torx hole in the bolt head? That's no bueno. Or you stripped the socket itself?

I heated mine up a lot before trying to get it loose - mine was really tight also and i was scared of stripping it.

If the bolt head is stripped only option is to use a pair of vice grips on the bolt head. I'd heat it up nice and hot also (the housing around the bolt) - you're replacing the seals anyways so don't worry about ****ing them up with heat.

yup stripped the torx hole I did what a guide a found said to ran jeep for like 30 min so its hot and do it nope still no luck for me.

I found someone else that had same problem they used a pipe wrench on the end so I guess ill be trying that now or vise grips... started this at 1pm its now 4:15 for 1 damn bolt this is sad sad lmao.

ill heat it up with a small torch and use pipewrench and see what happens i guess.

i'd use vice grips from the start, not enough meat there for a pipe wrench to grab

Yea tried pipe wrench no use for it. Using vise grips just have no leverage to turn it
