Okay. New alternator, and still same problem.
Check gauges light comes on and the voltage guage drops.
I'm thinking ground problem? Any quick ideas?

Yea, I didn't put a big lift or huge tires on it because I drive to Indiana with the vehicle quite often and wanted to keep the highway driving comfortable and be able to maintain 80-85 on the turnpike and still be able to change lanes quickly and evasive actions without feeling like I was going to lose control. I wanted a quality supension system that worked great on the road (where I spend 95% of my time) and still be capable enough to run some trails, take hunting, going camping, and making it to work no matter how deep the snow ever got here in MD. I listed it on craigslist and have a few offers at 5k but I won't go below 5500 unless I keep the wheels and tires and then I'd let it go for 4800.

Check the little black box mounted on the back of the alternator. Is the CEL code for the alternator field control circuit? If so, check the wires going to that box. Follow them back and make sure there are no breaks in the wires. Also check the ground for the alternator because it sounds like the alternator isn't charging. I'm going to guess the wires to the alternator.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/v...t-alt-1351894/ A new ECU fixed his problem. Since our alternators are externally regulated by the ECU, that was most likely his issue. Try swapping ECU's with somebody.

Is it bad when I wake up, hit snooze a couple times, and still consider turning off my work phone and going back to sleep?
