I would have to disagree. Pinion seal would be leaking out of the pinion, so it would be wet underneath the pinion. The diff cover would be wet on the bottom of the pumpkin. His appears to be wet on the tube side of the housing which I havent seen before. Axle seals are right there at the beginning of the tubes but I havent seen them wet the topside of the housing unless your vent is clogged so its blowing the fluid out instead of leaking.

You need some 12gauge or 14 gauge sheet steel at the least

the "atleast" would be comparable to stock replacement. and upon further review of your new pictures pinion, axle seals and diff cover gasket appear to be leaking.

thicker is more strength but the thicker *lower gauge number* steel the harder to bend and form it to fit where the patches have to be.

This is what I was going to get. Pads are still thick, they're just squeaking.

a guy at my work is putting his XJ up forsale. It was his daily driver till yesterday when it wouldn't start. He put a new CPS on it and when that didn't fix it, he went and bought a toyota.

96 4.0l 2 door 5 speed 4x4
280k on the body.

The Good..
Jasper Motor installed 5 years ago.
Seems relatively rust free, I've not had a chance to really give it a good looking at
New Shocks.

The Bad.
Paint is done.
Needs a Windshield.
Currently Doesn't run, most likely a simple electrical issue.
Dented front bumper, has a replacement I got him. It just hasn't been installed.
Coolant system leaks. He replaced the upper and lower hoses but something still leaks slightly upfront, my guess is water pump.

He said $2k but only after i pressed him for a number. I have a feeling he'd entertain less.
