so, my limited reading up on regearing a hp d30 has led me to finding out that 4.10 won't fit into the 3.07 carrier.
I also read that TJ guys were swapping out their lp axles with hp axles out of XJs and regearing them.
Further reading shows that 4-cyl TJ has d30 with factory 4.10s.
Wondering if the 4-cyl TJ axle is a direct swap under the XJ. Seems to be cheaper than regearing assuming everything else will transfer over.

well, crap. was hoping a swap would be easier and cheaper.
that'll be the plan then. gears, carrier, and install kit are 350+
and how are Motive gears?
well if you plan on regearing a dana 30. just get a new carrier. this just the first one I found when I googled it.
