Just big enough that it fits over the nut but not so big that it just spins. Hope this helps..

Not really I know that much but I don't want to go bye 10 different sockets im looking for the size

Go to the store, disco driveshaft. Go in, guestimate the size. Buy it, test it. If it isnt the right size, go in and return it. Keep doing that till you get it right.
