Let me know what your list says. It's an '01 so it should be same as your '98.

I think you posted a pic, but I can't see it on this computer. I'm guessing you're gonna use square tubing? I'd say just weld on a small hoops, and either tie on straps or attach some bolt-on/quick-disco steps.

The company I work for is actually bringing a company in to train us on the proper procedures for torquing to spec. I will pass on the info once I get the "training"

I'm thinking if you keep it horizontal, you don't lose any clearance. Then you could attach steps with 2 bolts (or however you want), and remove them before you hit the trails to get the clearance back. Just the first idea that came to my head, but I kinda like it lol

Take an idea and run with it. If it doesn't work, cut it off and go a different direction.
I'll PM you a pic of what I was talking about tomorrow (wait, it is tomorrow), will give you a better idea on what I am talking about
BTW, that is kinda like one of the ideas I was tossing around for a tire carrier...
Hatchbacks suck

im all about functionality
if i make her get out on the trails to spot or take video, or if i have to get out to inspect an area before moving thru it, that kind of takes away from functionality
im not stopping to put on and take off steps for that purpose
the link that was posted is easy enough and has the right clearance for what i want

Not my pic or rig, this is what the ZJ rock slider plans would look like.
If I went this route, I would tuck it in a little closer, less area to snag on something...

Didn't see the link before. Not sure if I like them, personally. I'll look into options more when the time comes to shop for/design them.

Or-Fab used to make a set of rails that were angled up to protect and hug the body.
TNT has something similar.
