Funnier story, i noticed that i have been leaking a little coolant by the water outlet on the head. Assumed that it was the gasket i could never get right. Well, i hadnt driven the jeep since i got home at six so i figured it was enough time to let it cool. I look at the hose, and i can tell it is the hose that is leaking. So i give a little tug. Mind you i said a LITTLE TUG and POP... hot coolant everywhere... all over my hand... my pinkie is on fire and i dont have anymore coolant... damn...

So I have been reading and reading and reading and reading about the knock in my engine, and watching youtube videos to find sounds like mine. Finally came to the consensus it was lifter/valve noise.
So I came across some information from 5-90. If you are familiar with him from here or NAXJA, the guy knows his stuff.
Anyway....so here is what I did. It was a pass or fail test going in and I knew it. I ran the engine at 3000 RPM for three minutes, and then at almost 4000 RPM for 1 minute. Stopped and let it go to idle.....
The knock was 90% gone...HOLY HELL! IT WORKED....the theory...if it's stuck lifters/valves, running it at high RPM's can un-stick them. I can still very FAINTLY hear it...but it is FAINT. So I went to the store and got some MMO and Mobile 1 High Mileage and a new filter. I will change the oil tomorrow with the good stuff and post my results.
It was kinda scary...if it's a rod knock, piston skirt, etc...running it like that will definitely expose that weakness...I was just waitin for her to blow.
Anyway, thought I would share this. This is NOT talked about a lot on the web....but I did find it...and it did work. So far.

I would like to make sure that the guy with the upside down rack knows that we are just messing with him. Not to take our easily flung **** too seriously...
I think i have a stuck lifter... or valve clatter... what do you think?
