Hey Zrace, let me know if the river gets hot down yonder and we can do the mega spread. I don't like hunting from the boat when its so high, but I have private land on the shore to hunt in a big shallow eddy when it gets high

from a hunt yesterday, we only bagged 2 but our spread looked sooooo good!!

edit: banded goose was from...puvirnituq, Quebec. 2014 or earlier...what a hike!

Yeah it's definitely high now. A girl I know that hunts between the bridges here keeps her dekes out all season and I looked at her spot yesterday and they're all gone except for 2. Oops.

I think we may be going out Friday. Let me text Brent and confirm. I will ask him if that's something we could do. They shot a couple Goldeneye last week, other than that I haven't heard anything else. Still really slow. I saw 2 boats open water hunting yesterday down from Long Level too.

I wouldn't mind hunting the shore, do you hunt out of a blind, or just kinda hide? I think I may go hit up my little spot tomorrow before work up in Conoy. Flooded timber I just sit on the log there and wait for them to come in, or try to shoot the ones that are already there hahah.

Damn, you got a band yesterday!? We went yesterday morning, it was miserable. Had about 20 ducks flying around the field looking to land while we were setting up. Probably about 200 geese came by our spread, something wasn't right with it, none of them wanted to land. We were pissed off and wet so we went home. Only bagged 1 out of 6 of us.

I can set up pretty much anyway. Boat blind, open water, shoreline...keep in touch. River will be coming down friday but manageable.

We had a thousand or so give us a great look, couldnt get them to finish within 30 yards however. They kept wanting to come into the far reaches of the decoys, 50 or so yards out. First thing we always check when birds flare is the blinds...you can never hide too well! I took a hay bale to camo us into that winter wheat...it was less than desirable.

I am thinking that's why they didn't like us. It was so hard to brush ourselves in with the corn fodder being soaking wet and it was all mud basically. That, and we didn't have a rake to gather it -___-

I asked him a little while ago, still waiting for him to get back to me!

I carry an old broom and a jug of water. Make some good gooey mud and brush it onto the blinds

Sometimes brown burlap rolled in mud is really awesome, too.

My friend keeps a garbage can or 2 in his trailed with stubble in it from stubble-ier fields for us!

Theres some other stuff...spray snow...green cloth strips...shock cords....shovels...we try to get creative haha

oooh oooh another good one is blue wiper fluid...dump that stuff on a frozen snowy low spot and put sleeper shells around it packed tight and load up...

That windshield washer fluid trick I have not heard of, that is crazy. Haha. Brent doesn't think there's enough birds for the dual setup. Maybe if by some miracle we get an influx of activity in the next week I will see if I can set something up... In the meantime, I am always down for a Middletown guided hunt

most people don't stay long.... Nieeal(xjwonders) usually chases them away when he hits on them. However, if your arm pits are overly stinky, we may all chase you away.

Where ya from, what ya got?
