Went to a mud bog yesterday. The biggest truck there was showing off in two wheel drive and put a rod through the block.

Anyone here have personal reviews of Mt. Zion Offroad in Dover? $600-900 to install a lift... OUCH!

that sounds pretty reasonable to me - most lifts take multiple days to complete. I think i spent about 14 hours on mine with 2 other people.

Labor rates usually run $75-$100/hr for shops, so that's a deal IMO.


....or you can grab a few friends, feed them beer and pizza, and knock it out yourself in a weekend.

My personal opinion on mt zion is not a good one.....just my 2 cents what size/kind of lift you looking at? Ill sir what I can do

Those were my plans from the start but i wanted to get an estimate on a possible price if things fell through on a lift party.

No way i would ever think about paying someone $600 (on the low end) to install a lift kit that can be installed over the course of a weekend at home. Yeah less hassle and more laziness to be had while having someone else do the work for you but damn im not loaded. Too bad the money tree in my yard just doesnt grow that much anymore.

Iron rock offroad and rubicon express both make a 5.5" lift, iron rock is cheaper by $600 give or take. Rubicon express springs are stiffer then most companies out there, rough country makes iron rock off roads 5.5" coils though but they are good enough for me

Piece it together, buy some cheap coils, find some add a leafs or full packs if you want, maybe some longer shackles to help with flex, find some shocks and you're good to go.

Here's the cheapest I've seen for new coils, and they're RE at that.

I'm running these leaf springs and a shackle. The springs give 3.5-4" of lift and flex well and are a great price. Just use the right length shackle to get it to 5.5

Both of these companies have free shipping and I've dealt with both of them, no issues at all. Keep in mind at 5.5" you'll need an adjustable track bar, longer shocks, and a transfer case drop/slip yoke eliminator

right now its just a dd. but as I get the money put a 4" lift on it, 33's maybe, nothing to extravagant for now. just enough to use it in the old strip mines and to take it up to rausch occasionally.
but hey, that's part of why I joined the forum & started reading, just to see if what i'd like to do is feasible and how to go about it

Anyone from or around Indiana, PA and would like to help a fellow xj out by removing my drop brackets? I don't have the support brace on it so it's just three bolts but I'm at school and don't have access to the tools
