I was looking to see how you covered the sheet metal on the sides, I used angle iron and created a "U" shaped platform from the back posts around the tailgate, but it does not look the best. Still a work in progress to say the least. Although it does serve as a beer holder when we are stopped trying to pull out some of the Wranglers!

I cut mine off just above the plastic moulding on the inside, and I put a piece of angle iron on the outside and over the plastic. Hard to see without a pic, I will take some later. But it doesn't look nearly as good as yours. Mine is off road only and I have a barn to store it so I will not be covering the back at all...wide open for some air.
The pic below shows it after I cut the back off. I did weld the tailgate to the back so it won't come off. I just wanted easier access to a tool box and cooler of course, but i didn't want any sharp edges.

I cut mine right above the pinch weld of the quarter windows, beat the pinch weld down with a hammer, and then took sher metal and welded it to the outside of the quarter panel, right below where the glass would have sat, and folded/rolled it over and welded it in the inside.then cut a piece and pop riveted it in for the passenger side inside bed, and built a tool box that goes into the quarter panel.

Thanks for the tip, I will try something similiar. Your Jeep looks like a beast by the way!
I just received my Christmas present to myself this year, I'm under the impression I was good, not so sure on the misses perception. 33x13.5x15 Super Swamper LTB's with 10" black D wheels, can't wait to get them on and see how she goes in the snow and mud!
