Have u checked the track bar mounting bolts mine rusted up and the mount would make a sound. I couldn't figure it out till I changed to an adj. track bar. Took months to figure this out after changing every joint in the front.

Could be but don't think so. It's coming from the steering wheel area. I stuck my head up under the dash and could really hear it right up by the back of the steering wheel.

Lol yea I know those can rattle too but its inside the cab by the steering wheel. And when I turn and hold the wheel it stops. What dizzy said could be a possibility though if the vibration or knock is being transmitted all the way up the steering column

I really got to learn to turn the music up louder I'm way to picky about a 13 year old Jeep with 209k. I should just be grateful it starts and drives everytime I turn the key..

Did you check the drivers side motor mount? They will rattle and knock with little to load when bad. Sound travels right through the floor and column

Man looks good. Nice to see someone tearing apart a jeep outside that's dedication. How did the ball joints go? I need to rent a tool and do uppers and lowers.

I put a pry bar between the mount and bracket and it has movement back and fourth maybe 1/2 inch. I'm having another issue on hard left turns like a few clunks then it goes away once I get rolling. So driver side motor mount could be culprit.Ball joint or motor mount is next on list. Been through every u joint not that.

This is my $10 intake setup someone wanted to see. It's not 100% done need to take old junkyard air box and make heat shield but it works. Function over form right guys

And I know my engine compartments dirty.. kinda like it that way

Edit: And torque app provided decent results. Air intake temp down 15 degrees at idle and goes down as throttle opens up. I've been comparing results with my stock box.

constructive criticism:

by jamming that round filter in the stock box you are greatly reducing it's ability to filter air, ie for air to move around it. There needs to be some clearance around the filter for air to flow. With a heat shield it will be even worse. You may see a loss in power and mpg with that setup.

all you're doing is sticking a round peg in a square hole filter wise so i don't see the benefit over the stock filter...
