That's a much better set up. No wires to worry about no cap to get wet and better performance to boot. I just replaced my plugs with E3's and they work really well. I am trying all sorts of things to attempt to improve fuel milage.
1 moved IAT from intake runner to intake tube and gained a solid .4MPG's
2 eliminated clutch fan and went with 3 electric fans this got .2 MPG's
3 E3 plugs and neon injectors got a good .6 MPG's
4 adjusted driving style gained .3 MPG's
Next is bored throttle body
All in I gained about 1.5-2 MPG's I'm up to 13 MPG's on 35's and 4.88's driving at 70-80 mph
Point being there are better plugs out now and have been proven to improve performance. To some it is worth it to others it is not. I am happy with the E3's.
Hey I'm all about making the Jeep as fuel efficienct as it can be...why not I don't have stock in BP. An extra 10 miles to a tank could be difference between getting to a gas station or not.. I try to keep plenty of fuel in it though.
Driving style is a big part imo because I can drive around all day and get up to speed just fine and not go over 2,300 rpm at all. I really never bring the Jeep above 3,000 rpms. Once in awhile I open it up to blow it out. I started watching my tach and just resting weight on the pedal causes the rpm to jump 700 rpm and you don't even hear or feel it. So I try to roll and stay off throttle as much as possible. I run the turnpike almost every weekend and I average 18mpg doing 65-70

But sometimes, and I mean very few times, they'll throw a CEL. Mine does, and it doesn't run any better with them.

I've got a set I'm going to try in the trail rig since it doesn't matter with that. Kinda want to see if there's a difference between the 99 and 98.
