There's a guy near me selling what I think is an 80s 2 door BMW... dunno if its an m... there's always a reason for someone selling a car tho.... ur usually buying someone else's problems...

I hear ya, unless you are buying new, you really are taking a shot even if you get a private party mechanic to look at it. I am going on car number 12 with this jeep. I've had pretty good luck, except for one car and that bit me in the ***.

I've owned a bunch of cars, new and used and currently one project that needs a trans.... my jeeps suspension was shot when I got it but every thing else seems good so far, seems well cared for just worn... slowly replacing all the suspension stuff but I saw all those problems before I got it but then again I love doing suspension work!

I haven't really done much suspension stuff, so that should be fun. I am just working on maintenance right now. Replaced valve cover gasket and spark plugs, picked up a cap and rotor, have some gear oil, oil and filters. Just gotta install it. Gotta hunt down some leaks, its due for inspection next month anyway and I might just have my mechanic look at it because I wanna drive it to South Carolina at the end of August.

Interior is in decent shape for the type of use its gotten, a bit smokey smelling but whatever. Kid had some ghetto stuff done to it, di noc wrapped parts and terribly done and a ghetto sound system. I ripped all that out and added a nice but cheap Alpine BT head unit. The door cars are all cut up for his 10 speaker setup so I gotta find some of those.

Other than that I just need to get some headliner material off of ebay .because its just totally hanging off and being help up with thumbtacks.

As for leaks, check the oil filter adapter, the o-ring goes out in it and sprays oil everywhere. Super common on the 4.0 and it will look like a rear main. Just Google "jeep Cherokee oil filter adapter leak."

Alright I will check it out. I noticed a little oil forms on the bottom of the oil filter which could explain that.
