Anybody locally (pa) that wouldn't mind a phone conversation about one that is driving me nuts. Idles fine, won't Rev past about 1000rpm.... and before anyone posts up their magical answer, I've already done everything cruiser says on his write up and more... more or less I need to talk to someone rather then type it all out due to the long list. ..

if it idles fine and then dies, it's probably a bad TPS. Gotten the engine wet lately? Bad cam/crank sensor could cause this also. Check the C101 connector for corrosion and loose wires.

May also be an issue with the fuel pressure regulator - allowing just enough gas to idle but nothing more

edit: is this for Jeff?

Dukie, you don't read to well haha... Jeff? No. Mine? No. Doesn't die, just back fires terribly. Tps good/adjusted. Cps new/tested good. No c101 on an 89. Fpr new, fuel pressure good.

Also has new dizzy, adjusted properly, New timing chain and gears, adjusted properly, plugs wires cap rotor new. No vacuum leaks (smoked it, and fixed all of them, checked harness for grounds/breaks, cleaned all grounds/electrical connectors.

lol ok? Sorry i'm not available for a phone call right now.

few things to try:
- check and freshen grounds, particularly the ones by the oil dipstick.
- unplug the vac line from the map sensor and verify engine rpms change
- clean the IAT sensor
- bypass the fuel pump ballast resistor (white thingy) on the drivers side fender by connecting the terminals together

I wasn't talking about the phone call, more the fact that I stated I did everything cruiser recommends doing, which you just re listed to me. I'm not trying to come off as a dick, I'm just frustrated as hell with this thing.

Unplug CTS and see if it helps.
Cleaning your MAT/IAF might possibly help, though it shouldn't cause that.

Did you pull plugs wires one at a time to determine a specific cylinder

Pulling wires one by one results in same outcome on each cylinder.
