I believe bed liner is designed to stick best to bare metal, no primer. .. on plastic it should stick fine, just have to worry about the plastic flexing and cracking it off

Www.Google.com ..... lol I'm not 100% sure, I bed lined the bed of my xj (yes my xj had a bed) and took off as much paint as I could before doing it. It's been 3 or 4 years, still on good. I vaguely remember reading that somewhere but can't remember where, hell, could have been on the back of the can

Yeah no need to prime, if you sand the paint down and get rid of the clear coat, ( i professionally paint sometimes) itll stick well to the surface

Ok, would I be able to prime (just to make myself feel better) I mean some of the spots of rust i'm most likley going to sand blast to get down to bare metal, so do you think it's ok to primer that, then after a few hours or even a day do the bed line ?

That's pretty sweet. ..I was going to use a Comanche gate but couldn't find one, so I made one. .. if I ever do find one I'll do it, but that's not top on my priority list. Was also contemplating a removable soft top, but was too much work for my 2 day build lol
