I've had the hood for awhile, been thinking about putting the stock one back on. Or paint it because the carbonfiber needs refinished

Got an idea for a tire carrier. Hear it out.
Mount the spare to the hatch and reinforce the hell out of it. Haven't worked that part out but I know it's do-able. This will require a lot of fab work.
Then buy new super heavy duty hatch struts. Ones that could lift the weight of the spare on the hatch.
Theoretically it would work. Anybody ever heard of someone doing this?
I don't like the look of a spare on the roof rack, and I'm too cheap to buy a tire swing bumper. I just want the spare out of the cab.
