You can reboot a brick if you know how, and the whole voided warranty thing is a myth... Unless it's jail broken when returned or you tell them you did it.

 

There is so much you can do with a rooted phone. I have always rooted my Android phones and loaded custom ROMs, recoveries, WiFi Jammer app, all kinds of fun stuff.

I just got an AT&T Galaxy S5, and man...it has so much potential. It's just so locked down and bloated by AT&T and Samsung alike, that I can't do anything with it. No root available yet for it. I'm anxiously awaiting it, because it is no better than my last phone without root. I at least was able to root my old phone (HTC One SV, Boost Mobile), but there's no development for it.

and iPhones are just...well..hipster phones

I have a s4 on mf3 firmware, it took a while for root to be an option haha, and with how hard it was for mine, I'm sure the a5 will be a lot harder and take longer for them to figure out.
