His jeep is not yours..... You don't know it's the switch for sure, he needs to do some simple testing first.

could have went to a salvage yard and got like 10 of them for the price of the entry fee to the yard hahaha

If the plastic isn't melted that bad you can still use it. Most write ups tell you just to take the one light bulb out of the switch cause it produces too much heat.
