Nice build so far. I did the 8.8 swap. Best thing I have done so far. The disk brakes really help the 35's to stop.

Well I finally installed the injectors. WOW!! What a differance. Found out why the jeep has been running bad and acting like it wants to die. The throttle body sensor was not properly installed. Also somehow, some way a BB was stuck in my MAP sensor vacuum line. Still trying to figure that one out. After installing the injectors and a tune up my jeep has a ton more power. I went from 60 mph at 2600 rpms on the freeway to 70 mph at 1900 rpms on the freeway. My fuel milage went up by about 3 miles per gallon.
Here is the site I ordered my injectors from. I recieved them 2 days after ordering. there are a lot of videos on youtube showing the testing of the injectors. For the 84 - 01 XJ's they are on sale for $90 for all 6.

Well I figured i would give an update on the on going project. I got my gears and lockers ordered for the jeep. Should be going back home to have them put in next week some time. Going 4:88's and the Eaton E lockers for the front and rear.
I desided to go ahead and start getting everything ready for the tires when the gears are done. Heres a few picts.

Before I removed the fenders.

After I removed the fenders and the gold strip down the side.



And after it was all said and done with a rattle can of flat black spray
paint.

Well I finally got started on the Ford 8.8. I put Yukon 4:88 gears and Eaton E lockers in the front and rear. Have a few picts below. The Ford 8.8 was fairly easy to install. I purchased new spring perches and shock mount from IRO. Perfect fit. Took about 5 hrs. to pull the D35 and install the Ford 8.8. Talk about a wieght differance. The Ford 8.8 is about twice the wieght. Well worth the work. I love the disc brakes. Gotta get my 35"s on it soon. stock gears to 4:88"s is a big differance. Had a guy from my home town install the gears and locker. Perfect! Well worth the trip home from Phoniex. He has been working on jeeps for 20 plus years. He has a ******* jeep in Jp Magazine.

D35 pulled out,





Here we are tack welding everything into place. I used the bump stops for a messuring point to center the rear end. Came out with in 1/8 inch.



Once everything was tacked in place we pulled it back out and went to welding.







The shock mounts from IRO. Went ahaed and welded the bolt to the back side so I didnt have a problem with it spinning on me.









And the finished product. Had to throw a little color in....
