Thats what holding me up right now with getting the dash is the cluster. I don't want to buy the dash and find that the cluster don't work. And even if I get the dash, my current cluster is longer than the other cluster, So it wouldn't fit into the 97-01 dash shape.

interesting build, kinda cool
when you did tthe front clip swap you didn't change the fenders? does it still line up good or is there lots of modding to do

The header Panel fits on fine, The only diffrence between the fenders was in 84-96 it had the slant.
In 97-01 they just poped the slant up and rounded it. Im debeting if I want to switch my fenders to the 01s.

thats looking really good and about the fender flares put the brackets on the flare before you put them on the body they have tabs that they kinda snap in to and its much easyer then wrestling with the flare trying to get it to sit right and i would change the fenders that gap would drive me nuts and if your doing the gate you should have no problems with doing the fenders its looking really good though keep it up

I know, I put the metal holders on before the flair and it was a pain to put on, they come off easy tho. I havn't installed the new flairs yet as Im getting them painted. For the liftgate end caps I got the E brakets to hold them up. My one project Im planning to work on soon is the front door panels. They don't line up perfect and going to have to cut a hole for the handle opener to fit in + drill a hole for the window roller. If anyone finds some information about the dashboard cluster let me know. If its a simple unplug plugIn I might do it.
I'd really like it if I had a doner 1997-2001 where I can take as many parts as I wanted. If I did. Id take all 4 doors, The entire dashboard steeringwheel, middle console, seats. Already have header and liftgate with taillights and all really.

Comming up with some ideas for the Dash. My first is trying to leave my current Cluster in without changing to the new one. But may just try putting in the middle style accessories like how this image is set up. Both of the 2 dashes are almost identical. So Im going to paint my entire dash this color "Charcole Black" of the image below. And even the middle console. Or how hard was it switching to the 97-01 console? And How do you move over the E Brake as its been moved to the driver side a hair.
So Im trying to find an area to place it.
Heres an image with a left alone 84-96 dash with adding some of the 97-01 style I made
For the steering wheel Im looking to get the boxy cover behind the steeringwheel, Is this an easy install around the round colum to my steeringwheel. Started using the boxy in 1995. http://www.gmacautosales.com/cp/1J4F...333104lifl.JPG
Heres The Bezel I bought for $5.00
http://www.dragtimes.com/images-clas...0428205455.jpg
And Later did a Photoshop of it. But the bezel is a hair wider. From the up and down vent to the middle of the stock cigert lighter is the wideness of the bezel. I kinda like the GloveBox on the 84-96, eaither year "84-01" their isn't that mutch room in them, but you do get a small shelf for your sunglasses.
And then a Complete Copy Past
If I can find some way to mold In the old Clock/Cigert area. I think it will work out great.
Updated:
I added a filler on and did a few touchups
Found another mod with a LCD screen in the dash.

New Updates for my Jeep Cherokee.
Well I called the repair guy and gave me a date time now, He also recommended that I should make a list of what I want done to it to keep it looking great and running, as he said these were great Jeeps and are getting harder to find them due to the clunkers program and will help me get it fixed up. He also will be getting new OEM parts.
So heres my big list...
My 1991 Jeep Cherokee Plans
Repair date: April 29 2011
Plans:
Paint Silver strip above doors Red
Paint Roof Rack silver strip Black
Repair RockerPanels
Repair Back Door "OR View Bottom List"
Install front Door Panels "OR Wait for Bottom List"
Paint Interor Plastic trim Charcole Black
Buy 1998-2001 Steering Wheel
Buy 2 more Jeep Logo Center Caps
Tint Windows from back doors OEM black
Repair Flare brakets
Paint Flares
Paint Gas Cover
---------------------------------------------------------
Buy New 2001 Fenders
Buy Used or New 2001 Doors All 4 Plus Door Hinges
2 door Cherokee Emblems
For the CHEROKEE door emblems like I did recently on my post, do you think I should buy the Classic for it or put back the LAREDO sqares?
Isn't 10 years a Classic and 20 a antique.
Heres a Red Cherokee with the CHEROKEE Classic on the door. I kinda like the Classic emblem

Well I got a 97-01 Center Console.

As for the dash, I may not install it as it would be alot of work. But will do the center piecs of the dash as they are both almost the same.

I had to totally dismantle the entire dash , I laid it all out and then took the cast steering column mount and welded it in, then I had to weld a inch strip across the entire fire wall. I had to plug holes in the firewall and hole saw out for the 01 wiring harness. then after about 8 test fits we screwed the entire dash frame in. Then bolted the heater core section in then started putting all the dash peices in. It isnt an easy job we worked on it for about 2 weeks straight staying out into the shop till 3 am but the end result speaks for itself

Got the 01 Steering Wheel. But its missing the front Jeep cover witch houses the AirBag and missing the two black cover caps "Connects Roundness of steering wheel and center Airbag. Does anyone have these parts. I'd rather have the cover caps without the buttons on them.
Heres a basic how I want. http://images04.olx.com/ui/1/34/53/5743153_4.jpg
And heres a button one

Yeah I'm going to order 2 new 01 fenders, and have to get 2 new front end caps too since I cut the bolt top that holds to the fender, My fender is longer than the 01 and had to cut the endcaps to fit on. For the lift gate, Im going to keep my style of hinges on it and use it on the new door, alittle mod to the 01 hatch will be fine with the hinges on the top.
You can look on ebay, I searched it last year and you could buy the entire parts for I think $5,999,99 Came with Header Panel, Fenders, HeadLights, Taillights, Trim, Doors.
Heres the tail lights NOW availble, I asked that seller If I could just buy these but said no. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JEEP-...Q5fAccessories
I don't see the kit on there anymore but could ask the seller of the taillights.
Like your black 2001 wish I could fine one for atleast $1000, all the dealers I went too want $5000 to $9000 And I got my 91 for $400.00
This maybe interesting to you too: http://jeep-xj.info/RonsBeijingMJ.htm
