Just ordered a Rubicon Express 2" Spacer Lift with shocks so I can get it leveled out for now. I want to be able to get some 31" tires under her and she is saggin' a bit in the front. Right now I have about 4" of clearance (tread to fender edge) up front and 5.5" clearance at the rear. My back end is riding a whole 1.5 inches higher right now. Hmmm...

I am having an issue with the Jeep randomly stalling. I have been driving it daily about 10-20 miles and it is happening every couple of days. The engine is stalling during acceleration and while the car is moving at 30-40 mph. I usually coast to a stop turn off the truck, wait for a minute then start her back up. There is no loud noises, no jolting. This was happening before I changed the Intake and replaced the VC gasket and replaced the CAT and muffler so I don't think any of those are the culprit.
I am planning on replacing the following:
[ ]Ignition cap
[ ]Ignition coil
[ ]Spark Plug cables
[ ]Spark plugs
[ ]Fuel Filter
If that doesn't fix it then I guess I will move onto sensors.

I was hoping to get the rest of the parts for the lift before Thanksgiving but it didn't happen. I have the shocks sitting here but no springs. I did get a killer deal on the rims I wanted though Thanks v8eater!

I'm still having issues with the jeep stalling randomly so I ordered a crankshaft position sensor. It seems this is a common fix for other Cherokee owners on the forums.

I always keep an extra crank sensor in the car...I have 3 XJ 97 99 00 and have done 1-2 on each...also..in the earlier post...words to never use BEFORE a install..."should be easy"..."should fit" ... "do it real quick"....and "goes right on /in"...lol....everytime I use those words...the simplest thing becomes an issue...even like a stripped screw...hahahahahah like the wheels and everything....I like the black grill though...very clean ride

I ordered up a pair of OME 2" Rear Leaf Springs and bushings. I am almost ready to do the lift. Lets go through the check list shall we.
[] OEM HD Coil Springs
[] RE Shocks front and back
[] 2" Front Spacers
[] Shock Boots (Black)
[] 2" OME 2" Leaf Springs
[] replacement bushings
Am I missing anything?

I was told at AutoZone that the Jeep needed a OBD-I Code reader. After two days of trying to find the Code scanner port I stumbled upon the ignition code check. Apparently there is no code scanner port on this year/make/model... So I returned the $30 scanner to which I opened and got store credit since they are not allowed to refund on a opened scanner.
Did a Check Engine light code scan and got a 11. This apparently means a CPS Failure. I had to do the ignition on- off-on-off-on routine to get the check engine light to flash. I counted 1....2......1.....1........5......5.

Pulled out the CPS (CORRECTION: crankshaft position sensor) and replaced it. I ordered it from Pep Boys Item BWD #CSS814. That thing is not easy to get to since it sits just under the cowl/firewall on top of the bell housing. I'm hoping this was the cause of the random stalling.
here is the old one.

I installed the 2" spacers on the front as well as the new HD Stock Springs and Rubicon Shocks. It gave me a 2.5 inch lift over stock. It took about 5 hours to install everything. I fought with the spring compressors which take forever to ratchet down and I had a tough time getting the jeep high enough to flex the axle to get the springs over the bump stop plate. I ran out of daylight so I will do the back leaf packs and shocks tomorrow.

The Rear springs was a PITA. What I thought would only take a few hours ended up taking 10. The two front Shackle bolts would not come out. I got the bolt about half way and then it just kept spinning and wouldn't let go of the frame. The bolt took a lot of pressure to turn so I am assuming it fused to the cylinder inside the front bushings. I had to grind the bolt off, replace the bushings and re-thread the frame. Once I got the old leafs off the new 2" OME pack went on without a fight. All said and done it all looks pretty even. I then had a alignment done and then drove it 2000 miles From LA to Denver and back and I could feel a difference (definately broke in the new shocks and springs ). The new lifted suspension feels great! Now I need to get some bigger tires.
