Default Transmission fluid change!

Decided to change the trans fluid today. My first time and it went mostly well. Someone in the past used RTV as a gasket so I spent the next hour and a half scraping it all off. Have yet to fill it up and take it for a drive but the hardest part is over.

Edit: After driving for a bit, the shifting seems to have become slightly smoother but not really enough to notice much of a difference. Either way, glad that there is new fluid in there instead of mostly dark fluid.

Looks like my radio/cassette player! I still have a pile of cassettes to pop in and a cassette adapter for my ipod. Enjoy!

Default 4 Hole Injector Upgrade

Upgraded to the 4 hole injectors and there is a difference. Car starts faster and it seems to idle smoother. Old 1 holes were nasty as well. Finally some color variety in my engine bay!

Default White Lithium Grease: Magic in a can

My driverside door never fully unlocks unless i cycle the key 3 times. Was told that WLG will help. Well I bought a can today at $4 and it has totally fixed it! Decided to use it on all four doors and they all work fine. Even my driverside rear door. The push button was insanely hard to press in. Sprayed some WLG on the rods inside the door and it's easy to press now. Will definitely stand by this product haha.

Default CB Radio

Wanted a CB for some time and finally picked one up off the facebook marketplace. Got it installed today and should get the antenna tomorrow!

Very nice, what kind of antenna are you going to use?

Can't argue with that. I would honestly stick with that unless you plan on using the CB very frequently.

So far it's been a good little antenna though I mostly hear static because I live in an area full of power lines and transformers so it isn't the best setup. Definitely gonna upgrade eventually.

I would certainly check the swr readings. Look online to get a swr meter, and you can find how to adjust the antenna up or down depending on your readings. It will make quite a bit of difference if you are out of whack. I was getting readings over 2.0, and after tuning my firestik, I was able to get 1.2-1.3.

thing had an SWR of 3+ so it was bad. picked up as cheap $14 walmart antenna to check and that antenna did better than the K30. just sent it back and now waiting on a replacement.

Did you pick up a meter or use the one on the radio? Sometimes the ones on the radio are not 100% accurate, you can find a decent one on amazon or even rightchannelradios.

The antenna itself may not have been bad. You should be able to adjust the K30 antenna for height in order to tune it. Here is a link from rightchannelradios that explains tuning.

https://www.rightchannelradios.com/b...g-instructions.

If you cannot get it to tune in better, you may have a short somewhere in the cable, or a ground issue.

I picked up a meter from amazon. I originally thought it had a built in SWR meter but it's something else. I got the replacement K30 in yesterday and it's working perfectly now.

Very interesting thread. Own a stock [except for radio] 92 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. Have been considering some soft restoration [seats, windows seals, clear coat, etc], so trying to read and gather ideas for good vendors and good ideas. Personally think you're making a good investment. Bought my Jeep at 204k, thinking I was buying a 'cheap 4x4' on its last legs. After a year of it not dying - I started looking at it closer - actually fixing the things that needed fixing - and 7 years later it's my favorite daily driver and seems to run better every year. Go figure.

Now I assume it'll outlive me.
