Most definitely true. As a matter of fact for fear of certain Mopar sensors becoming N/A I have started sourcing them to hoard.
And IMO owning an '00 makes that a little more important.
The I can't find a Bosch fuel pump threads come and go on here.
So does the availability. Seems like sometimes they can be had. And at other times you can't find one to save your life.
For my '00 looks like at the moment one can be had.
Somebody local to me on Craigslist was selling a new Mopar one that I am almost positive is for my Jeep.
He wanted $150. Said screw it went and grabbed it. Just for "stock". LOL.
Best I can tell for you guys with the older Jeeps fuel pumps can be really hard to source.
somehow if you'd believe it, the airtex i've been running with regretfully for the past few months actually hasn't given me any problems.
So I've been running without a temperature gauge for the past 6 or 7 months because I snapped the old temp sender off in the head and could not drill it out or use an Easy-out. Decided to order one of those adapters that go in-line with your upper rad hose and got it installed. Still doesn't work so I'm thinking the sensor is DOA since it was a cheap one off RockAuto. Do have power to the connector so I know I did that right. Gonna order another one and install it.
I finally got that temperature sensor to work. turns out the adapter doesn't ground out the sensor so I wrapped a wire around it and used a compressor bolt as ground and holy cow it works! Finally have one after so many months. Now for the bad news. After I started the Jeep, the gauge was in the middle like normal, and then it moved to 260 F which means overheating. Got out and found a puddle of coolant under the Jeep. Radiator finally sprung a hole in the fins after almost 30 years of use. so time to get a new radiator.
So my radiator finally sprung a leak after almost 30 years of use. Not really surprised. Got the new one in last night and the Jeep is up and running again. Though while replacing it, I snapped the upper trans cooler line in half so I slipped a piece of rubber hose over it until I get the new line in.
I'd be very careful with that kink in the trans line, it could be starving the transmission of fluid.
yeah i'm not gonna be driving it much for the time being until i get that new line in. just got the hose there so i can drive it short distances if need be.
Got the new Trans Cooler Line in yesterday and got the broken line replaced. With my luck, the old broken line unscrewed like it was suppose to instead of the entire assembly unscrewing and snapping the line.
great thread! and its going to help me with the 93 junkbox i just picked up thinking it was cherry haha. surprised you have so much rust down there in TX! car looks like it came from up here in Massachusetts. all the issues youve reported seem to be same for me in my 93'. like down to the T. i have the same rough idle not sure what codes but was told 45 and 32 from seller. he also told me it was clean and my cargo floorpan is rotted out on the driver side so who knows what ill find. also have to do the oil filter adapter seals too as thats the first leak i noticed along with head cover gasket. but theres a lot of oil down there i cant tell where its all coming from yet
anyways i have a thread thats going to look a lot like yours. Plan to lift mine 3.5'' and throw 31s on her but we shall see. im actually starting to fall in love with mine and may end up keeping it stock. only 77k miles, paint looks like yours, interior 7/10 needs headliner what else is new

awesome to hear! good luck on some of those repairs, glad I already had them done. The rust was from the A/C drain hose being backed up and draining into the cab. P.O didn't address it so I was left to clean up the mess. If it wasn't for that, I'd have a rust free rig. Also with the codes, if you cycle the key from OFF to On three times, your check engine light will flash for each number(ex: 3 flashes then 4 flashes is code 34).

Thank you. There have been plenty of times I wanted to say "screw it" and sell the thing for another vehicle. But, Now I've mostly gotten on top of everything that the P.O had neglected to fix.
So since I had a fuel leak from the fuel tank O-ring, I decided to pull the tank and install another O-ring correctly instead of trying it on my back while the tank was still on the Jeep(which so happened to be the reason it leaked in the first place). And this time around it wasn't as bad as when I pulled it the first time with only a wrench, my body, and a whole lotta cuss words. This time I was prepared and got it done quickly. also gave me a chance to see the condition of the inside of the tank.
