1ton back halfed 96 xj
Bought this jeep a couple of months ago with intentions of putting tons under it, keeping the suspension pretty mild, and building an exo around it. When I got it on a lift to take the blocks out and put lift springs in it, I noticed that the frame was busted behind the axle on both sides, so I immediately decided to rethink the plans.
It's a 96 country, 4.0 auto. It's was pretty loaded, with an overhead console, skid plates, 2 inch hitch, and two hooks. I have **** canned all of that, and all of the accessories are for sale.

I have already cut the back off of the jeep, and have a 4 link kit, and frame stiffeners in the mail. I have a 14 bolt for the rear and a 06 superduty dana 60 that is already trussed and covered for the front. I plan in a 3 link for the front. It had a pretty good but of rust in the floors, I've cut that out already, and have started the new floors.

I bought 20 ft. Of 2x4x3/16 tube to build the back half frame, and and the crossmember for the rear 4 link. I'm gonna run coilovers, or air shocks on the rear, and oris or coilovers on the front.

Thanks, this is the first real rig I'm gonna build, so progress will be slow, and it probaby won't be very impressive. My other jeep is pretty much all bolt one except for the front bumper, and sliders. This will be a big learning experience.

20 ft. Of 2x4x.188 was 140 after tax. The local metal store has much better prices than the huge steel distributor in Chattanooga. There was a 40 dollar difference before tax, and sales tax is 2% cheaper in Georgia than Tennessee.

I got a little more done today. Got the front bumper off, the ridiculously low hanging fenders cut up just so they are out of the way, the rest of the front suspension out, the front bumper and two hooks off, and started drilling the spot welds on the lca mounts. I may finish in a little bit if I can get over being cold. Lol
