I've not been doing a whole lot to it because i'm switching jobs and paying off a Lincoln PowerMig 255. once I get that badboy home, lots of stuff is gonna happen.

I am new to jeeps but had an 87 full size blazer that I wheeled. It had stock axles and 4 10 gears. I ran a 38 x 14.50 on it and never had any problems. Myself and my brother where none to nice to it either. I got $1400 worth of fines to prove our one exursion. My question is I guess, are the dana axels that weak as that running 37s is an issue. By all means if I am missing something tell me as said I know litte about jeeps. I saw this 90 two door on craigslist and bought it and now I have a new adiction and money pit. One in the same I guess.

Cherokee's however, have a Dana 30 front(1/2 ton axle at best, better rated as a 1/4ton IMO) and either a Dana35, Dana 44 or a Chrysler 8.25 rear end. The Chryco and 44 are what I consider light duty 1/2ton axles and the D35 is nothing more than a 1/4ton POS. Meaning the max tire size I would ever consider running on stock cherokee axles would be 35s, but to be safe I'd stick with 33s.

That makes sense when you actually think about it lol. I like your build and will definatly keep watching. Keep us posted and the only ones who comment about working in the street are those who don't know how to do their own work or are yuppies who pay for the work on their jeep and never take them off road.

Nice build man, I would say I'm surprised by your knowledge based on your age but obviously you pay attention if you have 3500 posts.
For those guys *****ing because he posts too much, I've found over the years that there is a direct correlation between how much time a guy spends researching and posting on forums and how much they know about that subject. Makes sense doesnt it?
Zach, don't let them get to you though, all they want is a reaction. Good job on the build and 44s will be fine for 37s. Not sure why anyone says it isnt when you obviously did the research to know you need to truss and sleeve it. Even the stock shafts will be fine for a while and will make good spares once you put in the chromos.

I've looked at RCV but I think I'll always keep the standard ujoint based chromo shafts for my builds with a backup pair of JY shafts just incase. I've never broken a shaft before but thats probably because i always carry spares lol.
I've heard good things about the RCV but I just cant get over the price. Thats why all my parts are used with the exception of lift kits and wear items.

I never did get treadwrights. This time around I have a pair of the old style MT/Rs with 95% tread I picked up for a benjamin. And 3 Dunlop mud rovers with about 25% tread I got from a buddy for a nice cool $75. Then I also have three 15x10s I got for $50.
So you figure, $60 more for two more wheels and I paid $300 before mounting for 5 32s and 5 15x10s.

BTW, **** YOU. I know you thought it was hilarious that I started the build on the street in front of my mom's house and decided to pick at me for it. Guess what douchebag: I now live in a 4 bedroom house, with a two car garage and work a minimum of 40 hours a week, and the Jeep is beginning to make tons of progress as I get better at welding. Oh, did I mention I'm a full-time college student and finishing up EMS school? Somehow I highly doubt you could've said the same when you were 18 years old.
To everyone else following this thread: Now that I have a garage, access to a welder and a steady job the build should pick up significantly over the summer. She'll sit in a garage most of the winter(except when it snows) so I can get a bunch of stuff done before next summer.

I seriously think that some people on this thread need to get their panties out of a bunch. Don't take EVERYTHING someone says on here as a personal attack. 99% of the time its not, and instead its just someone pointing something out, or giving their $.02 about something.
sorry my post made you butt hurt.
if you have an issue with me, be a grown up adult and PM me, don't go posting BS on my build thread of all places.

As far as PM'ing you, perhaps you should have thought of that before you started making comments regarding undergarments. And as far as MY post, I was just giving you a taste of your own medicine, hell I even copied and pasted your exact words.
BTW, nice waste receptacle. Maybe if you're nice will bring you a Jeep.

its an awesome rig. better then mine. i see no need to insult zach as he is a cool guy on this forum....as far as immature cyber bullys (nota944mecanic) ....seriously? do you have nothing better to do with your time? go find a vagina to touch or something and quit trying to make yourself feel better by stirring crap on a forum. theres no need to and it is far from amusing.
