94 XJ slow budget build
Picked up a 94 Cherokee for $3k with around 188 on the odo, with 35s, stock gearing, about 6" of lift (3" of spacer up front) and very little rust. Only stuff that isn't stock is the upper and lower control arms, otherwise brake lines, and all those goodies are OEM except for the pitman arm (maybe).
Got it home and check engine light is on. Looks like my MAP sensor is bad, 02 sensor needs to be replaced, and apparently the battery lost power within the last 50 key cycles. So first order of business will be to address the codes, swap the rear brake line, and swap the tie rod from my other Cherokee.
Tried finding some mud with it
It did come from Wyoming so it is pretty sun bleached, but I'd rather have that than Minnesota rust!

So last night I was driving, and the Jeep just randomly shut off with your warning, but Stuarted up just fine. Could that be the crank position sensor?

Ordered a new CPS from Rock auto the other day. Hasn't happened again... Yet. And also swapped the rear brake line for a longer one I never got around to putting in my first one.

I noticed that the rear sway bar was still in so I plan on taking that out tomorrow and doing some light wheeling with it to see what it can do!

Took it out today and did encountered a couple of issues, which is to be expected with a new to me vehicle. Decided to randomly shift out of gear into neutral. I shifted it into 2 and put it in park then it went into gear fine. It also didn't want to start after we shut it down, almost like it was flooding so I'm planning on replacing the 02 and MAP sensor and seeing if that'll help. Other than that it did great!

Hopefully yeah. Just gotta be careful with the throttle since it's on 35s with the little 27 spline shafts. I'd love to drop loads of cash into this one, but I'm most likely moving to Florida for school this fall so thats why I called it a slow budget build. That's not to say I plan on leaving it as is though either.

Got a new CPS from Rock auto a couple of days ago, and got my new speedo gear and headlight bezel today, so as soon as it stops raining I'm gonna swap

Replaced the speedo gear. When I first got it all buttoned up the speedometer wasn't working at all, so I found what all the numbers on the side of the actual sensor meant and now it's all good. CPS and headlight bezel are next on the list until I can afford the MAP and 02 sensor.

Swapped the CPS (An Omix ADA) and the Jeep runs like a giant turd. Should've listened to what everyone said and just gone to the dealership 😑 All in all this experience sucked, it was cold, took longer than I had hoped, and cost me $80 for a useless piece of plastic. Well, off to the stealership I go...

Ordered the new CPS from the dealership, and also the MAP, 02 sensor and Driver side marker light lens for when the headlight bezel gets swapped out.

Funny too since before it ran pretty good, with the occasional rough idle and only died on me once. Then I swapped it with a brand new one and it doesn't want to run lol. Either way I just picked a new Mopar sensor and it will be installed as soon as it's not wet and snowy. Funny it's like 28° and last Saturday it was about 70°. Man Minnesota is just great sometimes...

Well, I feel pretty foolish. Found out the real reason the Jeep died, and it's really stupid. Turns out my fuel was just too low! Enough gas to drive around fine but when I took a corner sharp and hit the gas it conked out. Had it happen to me again, so I filled it up to give it a try and everything works fine. Oh well doens't hurt to have replaced it anyways.
