No, I don't lick fish.
Wow, sorry to hear about your soaking, but that was a great nudge to remove that carpet! Looks great!

I got stuck in a bad rain the second day without door. I had to keep wiping the window and rear vote mirror. That was a sucky day, but no_rdplz had it worse than I did. He drove in that for a solid hour

I would think quite a lot. The insulation material under the carpet has a decent amount of air space within it and air is the best insulator. I am thinking of making/installing a fan(s) in the cargo area, granted I am only bed lining the cargo area, and the fan is for more reason than heat.
I always wondered if a heat sink like those on amplifiers would help.
For rain/water on the windshield, wonder if rainX/Aquapel would be useful on the inside as much as the outside?

Or some interior windshield wipers could be fabbed up . RainX doesn't sound like a bad idea though.
As for the heat, the only part that gets hot is the trans tunnel, and even then it isn't crazy hot unless you're doing a longer drive. I'm gonna try and get some heat shield material to put on the trans tunnel where the floor mat doesn't cover it.

Swapped out the factory seats for those from a 98 ZJ. The 60/40 rear is nice!
Sold the roof rack for some extra funds and had to relocate the hi-lift. The Tailbone tire carrier works pretty well pulling double duty as a hi'lift carrier.
Finally got to visit my parents in Michigan and use my dad's welder to build a new bumper.
Picked up a set of TJ flares for $50. Got those mounted and then trimmed them to the top of the lower 1/4 panels. I built the front bumper anticipating the TJ flares, so they line up really nicely with each other.
Also found a set of MT Classic I's on CL so they replaced the Canyons.
Snagged a ARB snorkel off of Craigslist to replace the other intake.
Added a few skids - front diff from Warn painted to match the body, a gas tank skid from a 93 XJ with a 16 gallon tank cut to fit my 99's 20 gal tank, and a t-case from a 96 ZJ.

Heres a link how to do it. It does require a bit of modification.
