Optima's (ever since purchased by Johnson Controls Inc.) reputation and reliability has gone do the pooper as of late. I wasn't going to take the risk with the Optima Yellow/Red Top.
How I determined DieHard over Optima:

Here is a good illustration of Odyssey (Producers of the DieHard) vs. Optima:
A lot of thought and consideration went into this purchase because at first I really couldn't justifying paying $220 for a battery. But through thorough research and only wanting the best, I decided that the DieHard Platinum is the best battery for my budget. The DieHard also comes with a 4-Year Free Replacement, as well as 135 minutes of reserve capacity and 880 cold cranking amps.
My build is all about quality and doing it right the first time, so I can say i'm comfortable spending $195 on a battery that has been proven to be one of the best batteries out there.

Yeah... I bought a DieHard when I needed a new battery. Couldnt quite pull for platinum, so I went with gold.
Check your warranty. I know mine is for five years.

Very nice. The warrant for the DieHard Platinum P-4 34/78DT is listed as 4-Year Free Replacement; 100-Month Prorated Limited Warranty. Good enough for my liking.

Thanks man! I highly suggest saving up for them if you want to keep your rockers in tact. Although I don't offroad a whole lot, when I do I want to be assured that I have some armor protecting my rockers and doors. Great product!

Looking great. Good choice on the Diehard, I was reading Consumer Reports the other day and they rated the Diehards the best among a few different group sizes. We had one in our Blazer years ago that was going strong at 6 years old before we sold it, and I think it was only a Silver or some other mid-grade model.
I like the CB antenna bracket, is it pretty sturdy? Do you have a link to a thread or the guy's username on JF?

I went snow wheeling with a bunch of friends from Salem Jeepers. I had a lot of fun and it was nice to get out in the East Cascades. Our initial destination was to reach a Log Cabin at Olallie Lake, we made it to Olallie Lake, but not to the Log Cabin itself. The snow was starting to get very soft and mashed up and quite frankly, my 30s couldn't handle it. We had a great time though!
