Not trying to be critical, just trying to understand. What made you decide to lighten the box tubing and add frame stiffeners instead of just use the box tube alone?

The original box idea was to make a tube frame, and tie the stiffeners into it. The box is 3/16th thick.... I do not want a Jeep that has a ton of weight. This is still strong, and the Essentially Offroad stiffener is being welded to the side of this box. That alone is another 78lbs.... I see where I can cut some steel off the stiffener too.


My previous XJ weighed 3680.... A JK (4 door)is 5400ish with mods.... I dont want to get too bogged down unnecessarily here.
