So I finally got my engine together and I surprised myself with the end result, I'm very pleased. It's a stock 4.0 thats been freshened up with new gaskets and seals. Its got neon injectors and I sent out the throttle body to get bored and powder coated yesterday.

This is how she looks currently, got the windows tinted the other day, trimmed and fit the rear bumper corners and now I'm basically waiting for parts and some free time to swap in the engine. Also along the way I had to get new tires cause the 33's I got from a friend had come to the end of their life. It's sitting on 31's now but I plan to get some 33's back under it after I wear these ones out or just get tired of them.

Dang, ok they showed when I first post them. I'll try to fix it cause a build thread is pointless without pictures.

Yeah, I can see all of the pictures too.

Very nice build. I really like how clean you have kept it. AND the 31's look really good.

Got my trail head offroad cowl intake yesterday and got it installed in about an hour. Cutting the hole to fit the filter is an interesting process. You can hear it suck air every time you hit the gas pretty much but it's not objectionally loud. I'm a fan but others might not like the noise. Should be getting my throttle body back from Leigh performance sometime this week, had it bored to 63mm and powder coated black. Next weekend will hopefully be the long awaited engine swap. I'll try to document it better then I typically tend to when I get consumed in working on my jeep. We'll see how that goes.

Got my throttle body back from leigh performance today, looks good, really please with the quality of the machine work and the clean look the black powder gives it. Got it bolted to the intake and it's all sitting in my garage waiting for the engine swap this weekend. I cant wait to see the difference in throttle responce and any other noticeable gains I might get from it. Took some comparison pictures to get an idea of the size difference. Again, I had it bored to 63mm from the origional specs which are roughly 59mm at the top and 55mm at the bottom where it tapers into the intake. The opening on the intake is approx, 62-62.5mm so I'm going to wait to see if I need to open it up to match the throttle body after I get it running.

Not much new going on might not be doing anything to it for awhile. Just found out the other day I might be having a kid in a few months so at the very least hopefully I won't have to sell it or my other Xj. Once it warms up I'll hopefully do a few more minor things to it buy money is tight.

XJ's before kids! lol...very nice rig. Mine is also Gunmetal Pearl, love the color. FYI, you can easily find the paint if you wanted to paint your grill to match.
