Day 1 ends with spending 5 hours getting 1 leaf spring out. Tomorrow we're tackling the other side, then the front.
Also saw my PS quarter panel is quite rusty, as well as my bumper mounts.
Cut-off wheel worked so well, to bad it wouldn't fit on the other side

Every last bolt is rusted and seized. Had to order shackles cause I thought it came with the kit, but didn't and cut the shackle off last night and it's Sunday so Jeep isn't open

Lift Progress
Day 2 ends. What got done? LCAs out. Had to be cut and only 1 bolt survived, ordering all 4 new bolts. Rest of the shackles cut out, no bolts survived, ordering 2 more, just ordered OEM shackles because I don't want any extra lift. $45 from Summit, hopefully they get here soon. Swaybar end links out. Bottom bolts siezed so had to be cut and then drilled out 1/2" through the stuck bolt for the RE end links to fit. 1 side done (only took 2 hours and 3 broken bits) will start the other side tomorrow. Also got the front shocks out and the coils out, easiest thing done so far. New shocks and coils'll probably go in tomorrow as well, tackling the adj. trac bar last as to not screw up the axel position. Also have to drill and cut underneath into the trunk to remount the rear shocks cause they all snapped (except the 1 that snapped last time which is already mounted in the trunk) as well as drill a hole in the bottom shock stud and remount cause that snapped as well. Everything that could break tried and did break. But more progress was made

Ahhh, welcome to the lift install world for us northern folk! LOL! You'll get there, don't worry! Just stay patient.
Please don't cut into your rear hatch space to replace the upper shock bolts. Air hammer, or punch and BFH and knock those welded nuts out. Then fish new hardware in through the access whole.

I did mine slightly different, but same exact outcome. Plus if for any reason you snap those later down the road, just fish em out with a magnet and put new ones in.

Finished drilling through siezed end link bolt.
Hopefully it all goes uphill from here

And UPS came with the rest of my V8 ZJ steering!

Ended the day earlier, ran out of light. Not much got done besides the previous posts, started drilling out the bottom PS shock mount. Need to go 1/2", only got to 7/32" before it got dark.
Plus my help was gone and I'm still a bit injured to say the least. New bolts come tomorrow so I'll be able to put in the RE LCAs, ended up being like $60 for the bolts. Shackles are shipped and on the way. Hopefully I can finish and get an alignment before Saturday for the 3rd annual Paul Walker Memorial car show in Chicago. Thousands of people go with cars of every variety under the sun. Last year I think there were around 6k, on there Facebook is says 13k are going, so I'll need a parking space lol, or just a piece of land I can drive onto and call a parking space lol
Saggy leafs are saggy. Center pins just about lined up.

You've had no luck with that thing so far man. Been looking at the snapchat story lol. If it wasn't for dealing with problems right now on my own i'd come lend ya a hand. Maybe i'll go to that paul walker thing

Worked great on the PS, the DS I might still have to cut. The weld nut didn't break off entirely, it just kind of bent out of the way, but was still kind of in the way of the new hardware to sit properly, and the second one was already cut, so the new method couldn't get through.
I would think if you could get a chisel in there, one wack with a hammer would take the rest of that nut off. But if your not too worried about cutting into the rear hatch space, then whatever's easiest.
You're making me antsy to see the finished product. All the extra work required will make it so much sweeter when it's completed. I did mine alone, and although I think mine was a little bit easier, it was one hell of a project working solo.

Thanks, but unfortunately there's not much there can be done without shackles and bolts right now. Earliest I cant get the bolts would be around 7 or 8pm cause my stepdad ordered them to his work. That car meet/show is in Bridgview I think. At Toyota Park where the Chicago Fire play, from 12pm-8pm I think. Meeting my uncle there with his '05 Mustang GT

Yeah I tried to get it out, but it wouldn't budge. We cut out the one mount last year and the metal is in the way now. Hindsight sucks.
