jk, I found your thread last night and I went through the whole thing in one go. Looking great. I just picked up a very nice 1987 myself. It's in wonderful shape (interior is near show room, see below), but there are some areas where rust is starting to cause trouble unfortunately (base of the doors). I am going to do a few mods, but will try to keep it pretty reversible for future posterity. Sorry for the fuzzy pics, I've not even gotten it yet!

Thank you! I believe it is "charcoal metallic", that said I haven't gotten it yet. I don't know what shape the paint is in. I'm hoping it is in reasonably good shape still. Not sure I have he skill to strip for paint like you did...that was some work!

Hey Crist!
I finally got my truck! The wood grain is a bit worse than I expected though and I'll need to be replacing it. I was hoping you could give me some advice on A) How to remove it since you seem to have gotten yours off pretty well prior to the paint, and B) Can you tell me where you sourced your new, nicely matching wood grain? Did you buy it as a kit or cut it yourself? And lastly, C) where/who did you have redip your original trip to get the wood grain back? Was it a pretty costly job to have done? Mine is *completely* peeled off and in need of restoration again. '
I also need to hit the lotto and find a driver's seat cover for the interior like you did for your build. The rest of my interior is actually in great shape, but the driver's seat has a tear in it and that just irks me too much to not fix it...if you get word of a maroon driver's seat cover in need of a new home let me know!
Thanks!

Tried-and-True Merchants
Re-starting my winter project...
Below are merchants I've used with great success:
1) http://www.glassrestorationinc.com/how-to-find-us.php I sent my driver's door glass (you know the one that always gets scratched)... Deep scratches gone... Looks like new and I preserved to have all matching glass logos/etching.
2) http://atlantahydroimaging.com/ Woodgrain-wrapping - Professional, good-communicators, flexible on changes/modifications.
3) http://www.julianos.com/seat_belts.html Sent my old worn-out seat-belts/buttons/casings... Came back all-matching like new!
