friend of mine who got bitten by the Jeep bug went out and bought a used 03 Rubicon with decent lifts rolling on 33", front aftermarket bumper with a tsi 9.5 warn winch, 4 PIAA lights, newer lockers front/rear (why the previous owner didnt leave the stock lockers is beyond me), and a bunch of other goodies, bought a new hard top, bikini top, soft top and he STILL wont go wheelin with me... I asked him why he wont take it off roading, he simply said "this is my daily driver, why would I beat the sh** out of it and see you do constant repairs on your jeep? just not worth it dude"
I gave him a smack down and told him he is joining me on the trails to get some good ol fashioned jeep schooling in the near future

well, im not completely honest, I did manage to take him "wheelin" in the spread in my backyard and got some good ol washington mud on it, but still... with what he has, he should be able to hit the more fun trails in the area (reiters pit which is sadly now closed, walker valley, loggers trail, evans creek)

hey Ryan i am not saying you are not living up to your name. i just think that with the tax return you could of got tools and started to make every thing you will need. im not saying that you can build everything you will have to buy some stuff. i too was one of those people once that would go through a catalog to order everything to bolt right on. but now that i have some tools and a little fab skill i make everything. keep up the good work the jeep is looking good we will have to hit the trails soon now that my jeep will drive good with the new long arms i just built. wheel one.

I agree alot with what you are saying. only thing i would buy are shocks, coils and tires (impossible to make yourself). everything else can be made at a fraction of the cost of buying. And you get to say that you built that. I love saying that. I am hoping to see alot more built items from ya in the neer future

Ya I'm gonna try pick up all the steel I'll need to make my sliders this week! I figure buy the time I have those built I'll have this wire feed mig pretty well down pat & can start cutting the steel to box in my frame!!! I was planning on doing the sliders outta .125 DOM, but a buddy was telling me that they use schdualed 40 for their sprint car cages! & that its cheaper weighs less & can take a 60-80mph hit to the wall!!! what do you guys think???
