nice build there was a guy on tdiclub with an alh (vw tdi) swapped in an xj that my boss did a lot of the work on last i knew it was running but the guy isnt really an online kind of guy i guess...i work on tdi's most days thats our specialty and i am the shops jeep specialist...lol

also pd's have a bit more power stock hence the favoring

alh's are much easier to get power out of compared to pd's....from what i know he liked it and was supposedly after he got it legal and driving was going to do bigger turbo and such and supposedly with the alh in a bone stock xj it weighed less than an xj with the 4.0 and a tiny bit less than a mk4 jetta...i have an alh car and love it mostly stock but with a little tuning bigger nozzles and turbo the alh is awesome...
also pd's have a bit more power stock hence the favoring
No way his ALH XJ weighs less than a Jetta. A Jetta TDI is around 400 lbs less than a 4.0L XJ and the engine weight difference is like 50-100.

im quoting from memory (which sucks) all i can say is it was close close enough that fuel milegae would be awesome in the xj
