Ok y'all. I need some serious help here. My xj has been giving me the no bus code so I replaced the cps sensor and all was fine until tonight, when I received the no bus code yet again. Upon plugging my scanner in, I received three codes: 1694, 1698, and 1686.

Need some help... Ive tried everything. My dad want's to sell the cherokee. I'm getting the 'No bu5" on the odometer, and I lose all my gauges again.. I have replaced the crank position sensor and took apart the dash to try to fix it. What should I do?

Will it Crank and Run? if so it's just the connector for the gauge cluster, cleaning it is only a temporary fix. Replace the plugs.

Moneys obviously no object! 16 yo & paying a shop to do all the work? Cmon man, thats how you learn. Jeeze.
On the Dash issue... If cleaning the plugs on the cluster doesnt solve the issue you could possibly replace the cluster. Do some searches on the issue. Theres tons of info on the web.

Just a 3 year follow up... We ended up having to replace the computer in my XJ to finally correct the electrical problems. I bought a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ) and installed a 6 inch long-arm lift kit with some 35 inch BFG KM2's in August of 2014. I'll post a picture of the LJ when I can.
