Not related to my DD but I found a super duty 60 front axle that I'm picking up Saturday for only $300! Hopefully the deal doesn't fall through.. I'll just hold onto it for a future build for that price.

It's been pretty hot lately, 85-90* so I figure I'd take a break from the t6 5w-40 and run some t5 15w-40 with marvel and a MOPAR 1090 oil filter.

Parked the jeep for a few days, I'll be driving my girlfriends XJ for a few days.. My jeeps water pump started grinding so it's time for a replacement.. I figured while I'm in there I'll replace several things:

- water pump
- water inlet tube
- radiator
- radiator cap
- hoses
- clutch fan (upgrading to a HD ZJ clutch)

Most of those parts are probably original, and the radiator has had a really slow leak since I bought it so I figure now would be a good time to get the cooling system completely rebuilt.

Total cost from Amazon was $130, will be delivered Tuesday.

The 4.0 ZJ HD fan clutch is engaged a lot more, pulling in more air. I may go with the HD clutch, maybe just the 4.0 ZJ clutch.. Both pull more air.

Nope the 4.0, it's just a HD clutch for towing, etc. and yep it's a bolt on! You'll lose about 1/2 MPG and its a loud clutch fan but neither bother me.. When next wheeling season comes I want it to be cool under the hood.

Alright so I'm picking up a HP Dana 30 this Sunday so I can build that without leaving my DD on Jack stands. Axle is from a 98 XJ, I've already ordered the area fan truss(not on the website) the truss is made specifically for a 3 link, you have to cut the passenger upper control arm mount off. I'll be ordering IRO tube sleeves, C gussets and HD LCA brackets, with 4.88 gears and a spartan locker. Should "bulletproof" the axle for my use being my next tires will be 35s and I want to leave the weak point the axle shafts, cheap and easy to replace. Pics to come once I get parts!

Why not throw on some Wj knuckles while you're at it? Should be a big improvement in braking which you'll need on 35s and much better steering plus you'll probably be replacing the unit bearings, ball joints and brakes anyway, may as well upgrade.

For what I'm using the jeep for I don't have a need, I have new unit bearings in my current axle that I'll swap over, and I have some synergy ball joints I'll be installing.. I'm just going to run some UTK one ton steering from aresfab.

Got the water pump, and radiator in tonight.. Had everything buttoned up and went to put the radiator core support back on and it doesn't fit?... Very odd, I'm wondering if I don't have the right radiator support for a 99? Anyone have input? This is the spectra radiator from autozone. I'll probably just drill new holes in the radiator support then call it good.

do you still have the old one to compare too?
I just did mine as well, and the outer bracketry was a bit different than the factory one.
Did you put the rubber isolators on it yet?
