Looking good, I have always liked the way you did the front flares. Simple and functional!

Thanks man. I like the combo of flares now. Some paint and it will be a whole different rig.

So in need some opinions.

I'll be painting my jeep this summer the paint scheme will be satin blue main body and the satin black for part of the header panel, hood, cowl and roof.

So with that in mind if you can picture it. Should I go with the factory gold limited script and pinstripe or something like a military theme.

Factory pinstripe

I would only do the military theme if you were gonna paint it army green or desert tan. But idk, it does sound pretty cool. Lol

I here yeah but part of my build is doing things a little different there are lots of OD green and desert tan xjs. I have yet to find a non gloss blue xj even gloss blue is kinda hard to find.

And as for the military decals I'm looking in to getting them in tan which I believe would match, not over the top kind of color and get it that look I'm looking for.

Tire carrier turned out great. Looks like you could drill a hole (2-1/2") it so that it could mount a little closer to the hatch? Other than that looks very functional.

Thanks, and when it was built I didn't have my jeep. So it was built off of my girl's zj which is a little different. It fits the zj great but for mine it's too long the hole drilled to surcure the mount inside the hitch don't line up as the 2x2 is to long inside the receiver. So it will be cut down and a new hole drilled which will be 5/8" like the rest of the hardware. I'm shooting for about an 1" away from the bumper. That will keep it close enough to the hatch but not be bouceing off the hatch. During daily driving duties and weekend trips to the woods.
I still need to relocate the license plate and wire a license plate light. Then it will be painted.

Well thanks to a local member on here (PnwPioneer) I got 4 manual doors, so no more power doors for me. I need to do some work to put them on. Swap door cards, make a hole for the window handle and swap mirrors till I can get some late model ones. I know I will turn my old rears in to half doors and maybe the fronts too.

It was built that way so I didn't have to take it out when I go wheeling.

On another note I have been watching and reading over half door builds and I think I found a way to my door handles inside and out. Pretty much gutting the door inside of window crap and cut the window frame off. When I get around to my half door build I'll try and make a write up.

Everyone know that the door hinges break on xjs well my upper driver side has been cracked but didn't realize it was fully broke till it popes off Saturday when I was getting parts to fix my girl's car.

So Sunday this is what I came up with to fix the problem.

After welding but before paint. Also two 5/8th hole were drilled and welded but for maximum hold.

I finished my tire carrier over the weekend too. Painted it satin black. I cut 3" out the receiver tube. I just zip tied the plate for now till I relocate it in a final place.

Do you plan to leave the tire carrier in offroad? And if so what's the plan for recovery? Just pull it out and hook up to the hitch?
