So I put my iron man fab control arms and track bar on....I ran into a slight problem....lowers are as short as they go at 17 inches. Upper are going to be at 16 because I took out the spaces on the lca mounts. So my problem is....the front differential has only about 1 inch of up travel before it hits the track bar....I'm sitting at 4 inches of lift. Is there a bracket anywhere that moves the track bar around 3/4" forward?

well. i got my front brake lines on, my iron man 4x4 track bar, my iron man 4x4 upper and lower control arms, front 1.25 inch spacers, and sway bar disconnects. i didnt take any pictures, but they are awesome!
i took it wheeling sunday, and it did very well! the control arms and brake lines freed up so much flex! check out some pictures!
almost flipped!!
recovery around a tree. haha
flexing some suspension.
getting stuck...
good group picture
also i picked up some used bfgs for cheap. gonna get them mounted friday or saturday. cant wait!!!
what do you guys think should be next? i have a light bar, i need to make some mounts for it, then mount my 4 lights up. dunno what else....im on a limited budget right now...

wow, its been a while!!
so i guess an update...got a delema...
i am planning a 4 hour and 30 minute trip with the jeep in 2 weeks. i will be towing a decent sized trailer, with 2 motorcycles and 2 bicycles on it.
my problem is the cooling system. i have been fighting with it sense i got the jeep 3 years ago. ive replace the water pump, rad hoses, thermostat, flushed the system, and new fan clutch... and i even removed the air conditioner condenser for more air flow. i still find that on warmer days, the engine doesnt like to be cool. last year on the same trip to virginia, from pa, during 95 degree weather, with 2 kayaks on the roof, 2 bikes on the back, and staying in the slow lane, i was in the red on the temp gauge constantly, and driving 200 miles with the heater on full is no fun...so im finally biting the bullet and buying a new radiator.
lucky enough i work at advance auto parts, so i get a discount. and other then 500$ Griffin radiators, i have a choice of 2 different read-rads.
the one is 220$, 1.5 inches thick, 2 core, made of copper/brass
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...___#fragment-2
the other one is 120$, 1 inch thick, 1 row, and made of plastic and aluminum.
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...___#fragment-2
ive researched which is better, and it seems that aluminum works better because its not soldered, or brazed, together like the copper is, lead apparently makes a very terrible heat conductor... so what they do to lighten the radiator (useless to jeep owners) is make the aluminum radiators thinner....now im torn between which one i should get...i dont like the plastic construction of the aluminum, but the price is almost half of the copper one...and if it works better...i have no idea. what is the stock radiator in the cherokee made from? and how wide is it? if im getting a new one, i want to get a better one.
they also can get a right hand drive one, i wonder if this would fit and work in a left hand cherokee? this is aluminum, 1.5 inches thick, and 2 core...best of all worlds? i wonder if it would fit....

I would definetly go with the dual core radiator runs much cooler. Plus we all know what happens when you put plastic on or in a jeep.

well its been a long long time since i posted any updates. i guess its about time i make another. sometime in july my jeep wanted to fight a gaurd rail...and this happened...
'
it was pretty messed up. sheared the pitman arm right off the steering box, ripped off the lower control arm mount, bent the control arm, bent the upper mount, destroyed the shock, spring went flying out because the whole passenger side was pushed down and under the passenger floor board.
so i picked up a 94 ford exploder as a temporary driver for cheap. been accumulating parts and money for the poor old jeep. im doin it right this time, but still keeping it as a daily driver.
first thing, new to me axles
29 spline 8.25 w/ lunchbox locker and grand cherokee disc brake conversion
going to weld on heavy duty control arm mounts and run an open front so i can actually turn in snow (future plans are 4.56 gears and front e locker)
i want an e locker cause i do take frequent skiing trips and this is my daily driver, and i quite like driving in snow.
4.5 inch rubicon express springs, bilstien shocks all around and ordering 1 inch shackles for the rear.
got a new fender, new stock bumper for now, new steering box, grand cherokee steering setup, 2 new wheels for the right side, got used 31 inch bfgs for now, i got the Iron Rock offroad sye hack n tap kit w/ seal flange and refurbished front driveshaft, 4 knock off daylighters that will be receiving 55 watt 5000k hids and a light bar, and oh yea, i ordered from froehlich suspension theyre 4 link kit with lower poly joints. just in case you guys wanna see what his stuff looks like, its the best setup ive seen yet, just waiting on him to finally ship it. its got seperate frame mounts that are bolt on, yet permanent, and the cross member is bolt on, but can take that down separate from the mounts to access the transfer case/transmission. it has 1.75" solid hex, 1.25" hiem, LCA's. and 1.25", 7/8ths hiems, UCA's.
(stole from his 3 link build)

cannot wait to get that stuff
sticking with ironman andys track bar and rusty's 3.5 inch leaf springs, adding 1 inch shackle.
and starts the tear down
and how she sits now
progress is pretty slow because im waiting on the long arm kit. also because its cold out and i have been busy with work and other things. but should be moving along soon hopefully.
but this has turned into a long arm build

Thanks wiggles.
And currently I have 235/75s on it but I have a set of used bfgs that are sitting, waiting to be able to go on it.

I used paypal. But yea, i ve been moving real slowly on the build. Works been beating the hell outta me, 55 hour weeks leave little time for the jeep. But I got the old steering box out...which I guess is some movement. Also got my 4 55watt hid lights. Godda fix my welder and make some mounts for the light bar.

Got the crossmember for the long arm kit. Pretty excited. Ups says I should have the rest of it this Friday. I also got the new steering box in, and got the new fender on. I set up the front bumper and got my welder working again, and made a sweet little hoop/grill guard thing for the stock bumper, just need to weld it on the bumper, and maybe put some light tabs on it to mount the hellas on it.
Its a pretty shaky picture.
Can't wait!
