It's stressed between the manifold and that"hanger" rod. I'd have to bend the downpipe and adjust the overall shape to fix that, but the design is terrible anyway. The TJ pipe is a bolt-on change with a larger inner diameter, and it'll be easy to rig up the rest of the system cause I'll be replacing one of the OEM pieces with something lighter, less restrictive, and of consistent diameter. Ahem. I'm also gonna buy a short piece of flex pipe just in case I feel a need to use it

No, I don't lick fish.
I'd be interested to find out if it would or not - based on the dent in my oil pan from the UCA mount, I'd be curious to see how much clearance there is for everything.

It's the same motor and same axle. Different frame-side links, of course, but the axle side is the same. I'd say 50/50 chance without actually looking at them, based on what I know. You could get one, test it, and still return it even if it fits

Honestly, not a big priority right now. My exhaust is hanging up there just fine, not leaking, and sounds pretty good. No reason to mess with a good thing at this point. I'm eventually going to replace the whole thing with what I want, but that's further down the road. SO, I'm definitely curious to see what your results are. Definitely seems plausible as you said because there's no difference between the axle and motor. Should work, but then again, when the facotry designed these, they didn't intend on the front axle flexing enough to make contact with the oil pain and tranmission cooler lines either

How does your suspension type and having a boxed-frame versus uni-frame rails have anything to do with how your exhaust is routed? Honestly Tim... I think you're letting the WRANGLER soak into your head. Next thing we know you'll be wearing a douchey tank top, saying "brah" every where you go and talking about your Yeti cooler and your 52" LED light bar

It's already been proven to work on a YJ, so I'm not sure what else I can provide that'd be relevant to XJs

i know someone who has used a TJ downpipe on an XJ. Not sure what (if anything) he had to modify to make it work
