I friggin love this build!
I would caution against drawers. Unless you do a single layer of about 7.5"(tall enough to fit an ammo can) By the time you get the frame, hinges, slides and drawer frame, you lose allot of usable space. I have always liked large Cabelas or Jansport duffle bags or the rafting dry bags. You can stuff what you want in them and they still conform to whatever shape you want to reduce the take up of "wasted air space". I do like those totes, especially for like stoves, lanterns, kitchenettes, etc and i don't think a person can go away from having 1 or 2 in their rig(i am guilty myself at having a row of "grab and go totes") in the garage. I made my box just tall enough to fit the .50 cal ammo cans and still have room to throw my totes over it and a place for the dogs when im not carrying gear.

If you live in a cold climate or have significant other who is always cold...blankets stuffed around totes takes up "air space" and reduces rattling/ shifting, and you have more room in totes for the important stuff

Next up: Bolt On 101
This will finish the XJ's air intake and exhaust upgrade for now.
Since the intake and exhaust manifolds would be out that we decided it would be a good time to upgrade the motor mounts while we had access to them.
Also decided to install new sensors as they looked a little tired.

Rear Cargo Customization
I was looking to maximize the use of space in the rear cargo area.
Saw a couple of pics on a thread where a gun rack is used for tool storage.
Picked up a couple of cheap ones for now to test the set up.
First impressions are that the racks are too inset in the window bay,
limiting the size of equipment to be attached.
Did not like wedging rack into window gasket to mount.
But this is a test of the overall setup of using rear hatch and window space.
I will establish a more rugged system later.
Also mounted a shovel on the rear hatch.
Drilled a hole through the metal, drilled a hole in the trim, slid the bolt through trim with washers and nuts securing both sides of the plastic trim, slide shovel on and secure with wingnut. Other side of shovel is simply slide in place into a hanger.
To remove shovel simply spin wingnut and remove shovel.
To reattach slide in hanger on handle side, then slide bolt through shovel on business end, and attach wingnut.
This is all just a preliminary test, as I will refine this setup over time to:
maximize space and ease of access to equipment, as well as shorten time to locate and remove tools for use.

In your first post you list the parts you put on. For the roof rack you just have "roof slider"
Could you provide some more info about that, I'm looking at either making or purchasing something exactly like that as I'm in the PNW with trees everywhere!

Equipment Racks
It's a cheap gun rack I picked up from Walmart for $10 a set.
I bought two sets, one for each window.
Easy setup, installs in minutes.
While it may not be the most rugged setup, this would work fine for most uses.
Personally I will be installing a more solid equipment rack system in the future, and am using this temporarily as a test setup.
I would rather opt for metal racks mounted into the Jeep itself.

Roof Sliders
I picked this rook rack up second hand from a guy parting out his build.
Unfortunately he couldn't tell me where he got them from.
Did some research and found some older threads over at another forum with a roof slider kit that looks similar.
If I had to guess, I would say the roof sliders were made by H.D. Offroad Engineering LLC. Or at the very least based off the design.
Found his website, and didn't see the sliders there so I don't know if he still makes them.
Keep in mine that I had to alter mine, most noticeably my rails are flipped up. But it looks like the same rack.
Solid construction, simple rugged setup.
Strictly for side protection purposes as a roof slider setup, obviously not intended for sufficient cargo use.
