Talking SYE install

Here's were things got tricky. I found out the amc 231 output shaft had a smaller diam. than the newer np 231.
Good thing I have spare t-case parts hanging around or else I would have been screwed
How it looked when I pulled it out.

My spare case I ended up using parts from

See how much wider it is compared to the amc shaft. This is why I had to swap the guts from a 1994 case

Default To much time on your hands

Are you married and if so does your wife get jealous of all the time you spend working on your xj.
My feeling here is just go buy a nice winch bumper or a winch plate. A lot eaiser and sometimes cheaper if you add up all the hours spend building and fixing all the stuff getting broken taking it apart and putting it back together.
"Imm just saying." :-)

Default cool drive shaft setup

So someone else told me about how you can take a front shaft and use it at the rear. Which front drive shaft will fit on the back of the xj with the universal style u joints?

Front shaft came off a 94 XJ. They all pretty much the same.
And the bumper took me about 6 hours lol I still have about another hour of work left.

When I get a winch I'll just add on to it as well with a stinger.

All I got to say is the Dick Cepts Crushers are awsome tires. They definately worth the $$$

Thanks man!
if you don't mine the sound of tires howling they are great. I have no vibes at all with this thing on the highway. "Top speed is 70" Won't go any faster but I don't need to. The tread works like paddles in mud and sand lol talk about rooster tails.
So far on wet roads no problem I have yet to find out what they do in snow.

Default Nice bumper

Don't get me wrong on the bumper, I would do the same thing if I had the shop to work out of and the welder and the lift ect ect! I guess I am just jealous because I have to work at home and in the driveway, and if I don't work on the wife's car also, well I might as well build me another shed to live in because I will never hear the end of it!
I don't have a shop to work out of anymore, I even rebuild my wife's car transmission last April. In the driveway and in my one car garage. Yuk it was not fun, a 4t65e trans. Had parts everywhere, just like I do now restoring a 81 Goldwing.
