I haven't seen (in person) many matte black jeeps, but the ones I have are awesome.
I'm actually just thinking about bedlining the whole thing with monstaliner. It would be cheaper and way better for so many reasons.

The Jeep looks good man. I really like what you did with the black on black, that's pretty much what I am going to do with mine. That rust in the rear isn't too bad, mine is starting in the fender well and working towards the back. I am thinking about taking it to the body shop and have all new rear quarter panels welded in but have to check out prices. I am definitely subscribed to this. Keep up the good work.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'd like to see before and after pictures of your quarter panel swap if you do it.

Bought a Dana 44 today. Big thanks to cherockee (forum member) for the hookup. Real nice guy.

I may be getting a little ahead of myself by purchasing this, there are bigger priorities for this xj right now, but I could not turn down that price. I only paid $200 for this thing!!

When I'm ready, this thing will be getting cleaned up, rebuilt, regeared, repainted, disc brake conversion, and a big ol' locker. Maybe even a fancy new armored diff cover to top it all off

I planned on working on the jeep today, instead I made some planning for its future. Real happy with my purchase.

So here's my weekend update. Today I installed a new rear exhaust hanger, and ordered the other one. Next weekend I'm hoping I can throw my new tailpipe and flowmaster super 44 up in there. I also changed my diff fluid on the rear chryco 8.25. I would've done the front axle at the same time but the parts store didn't have a gasket for it in stock.

Real soon I'm thinking about putting the xj back into surgery to fix some problems, and fix them right. I think all at once it's gonna get some 6.5" front springs, shackle relocators with shackles to equal a total of 2" more lift in the rear, an sye with a cv driveshaft, durango steering box, and a new hd tie rod. Then aligned, again. probably going to have to get new lower control arms, not sure if the ones from my 4.5" lift will work on a 6.5" lift. Anybody know if this will work? I plan on doing a 4 link conversion in the future so I don't want to buy something I won't need eventually.

The reason for this being, first off, who doesn't want that extra lift? Second, my stock shackles are really squeaky and at a real ****ty angle. Third, the sye is a must, but I dont want to waste my money on a cv driveshaft for the lift I have now, if I'm just going to change it to fix the shackles anyway. This surgery should fix some serious problems all at once, while making it much more capable off tearing up the trails. Except for bumpstops, STILL WAITING FOR THOSE TO COME IN THE MAIL!!!

I also thought this was funny, this is what the back of my jeep looks like until I get the jcr tire carrier bumper with hi lift jack mount.

After waiting over a month, I cancelled my order for the bump stop plates. Please, if anybody reads this. STAY AWAY FROM DIYBEADLOCKS!!! He had poor communication with me, and never even shipped my product.

So instead I bought a set of these bad boys. Liquid iron industries. I paid about four times as much for these than the other ones, but it's what I really wanted to begin with, I was just taking the cheapo route to try to save some money. These, hopefully, should be better in every way. Should be here by the end of the week.

How did you end up torquing down those upper coil nuts. I have been driving my rig and it feels like the front end is really loose, don't know if that's what's causing it

You mean the nuts on the tops of the shocks? My instructions said torque them down to 17lbs. So I torqued the passenger side to spec, and since I couldn't reach the driver side with the torque wrench I just ran the nut down the same amount of threads as the passenger side. Some of the guys on this forum said it wasn't that big of deal since its sitting on poly bushings anyway, just as long as its tight.

I had to re-do my work cause for some reason rustys thought it was a good idea to paint the threads on the shocks which was gumming up my nuts and making them a ***** to deal with.

Hope that helps.

Did up my exhaust today, the new tail pipe still rubs against the leaf spring. I blame it on the new exhaust mount. It pushes it out too far. Other than that, it sounds good! Not as good as it would if I had a cat to go with it, but it sounds way better than stock. I also finally put my extended brakelines in and my new bump stop plates. It got too late tonight to take pictures of those, but I will tomorrow when I do my first flex test!!!!!!!

My first flex test!! Very pleased. I measured my space for bump stops, and went to Dunhams for hockey pucks, they literally only had one hockey puck in stock. So I'll be doing my shopping on the Internet.

So here it is, all my hard work in action

HD tie rod and hockey pucks came in the mail today. Mounting these up this weekend. I need about 5" of bumpstop on the front, and 4.5" on the rear. So 20 hockey pucks will be plenty haha, especially because I have those extended bumpstops to replace the stock ones in the front. I have to have a lot because of those bushwackers I can't stuff the tire up behind the fender, I still get good flex though.

This weekend (since the guys from pa cherokee club bailed on wheeling... Grrrr) I plan on changing the diff oil on my d30, night shading the headlights, tailights, and side markers, replacing the headlight bulbs, and maybe removing my pinstripe. Also if I can get up earlier enough on Saturday I'll visit the JY and see if I can get 784 injectors, and if I'm really lucky, maybe I'll find one of those steering skid plates that came stock on some xj's... Not getting my hopes up though.
