Been a while!
Hey Dukie, it's looking great! I havn't done much of anything fun for a long time, I bought a house and have been buried in workin on it. Seeing your progress has given me new enthusiasm! But.... I think I want to buy a slightly newer one for this kind of fun......hmmm

So Ii been considering using wrangler flares on my xj soon. the stock ones are pissing me off lately... lol there not holding themselves on all the time and when I flex the rear they pop off.
anyway. I know you did the fender trim prior. How far from the lip of your fenders did you mount them up? I'm curious.

i don't have a good picture at the moment. The top of the flares are ~2-3" from the edge of the fender lip, but it varies since the flares are not made for an XJ and I mounted them so they looked good, not followed the fender cut.

i like the look of the flats. If i had the cash i would have used those probably. I want to build a set of 2x6 rocker replacement sliders, and some steel tube fenders.

gonna try my hand at the welding tomorrow...we'll see how it goes. Hopefully well - I usually catch on quick to things like that
