did some work on the jeep yesterday. Replaced the ignition coil and the spark plugs.
Old coil had no less that 7 separate cracks in the casing lol. Old & Busted:
New Hotness:
Plugs def needed changing. 0.050" gap pretty uniformly, and #5 had oil on the insulator (possibly from taking it out crooked).

Looks like normaly wear on the plugs for the most part though. So that's good.

Still trying to track down the cause of my exhaust "burble" at idle. Almost like it skips a beat every few revolutions. But nothing has led me to the engine misfiring (runs very well off idle), and the ignition stuff i just did had no effect on the issue. The new manifold will hopefully solve that minor issue as well.

oh and i found the cause of my recent death wobble is the pitman arm TRE, so i'll be swapping the one from my old drag link over in it's place.

Yea i was actually surprised. CEL has come on every day for the last 8 months or so from a 02 sensor code (cracked manifold making it read lean), so i expected to see way more carbon on them, but they look great. I actually looked and the last time I changed the plugs was November 2010, so it was definitely due lol.

OBD 1. Cap and rotor were new when i put the upgraded plug wires on (June 2013) so the issue shouldn't be with that. Wouldn't hurt to pop the cover off and check everything out though
