OK. So this is the new style that I have. Bolts to the bumper itself, and screws through the body. It doesn't look very good IMO

This is the old style - it still bolts to the bumper, but it's folded under the cut and fold, and screwed up from the bottom to the body. Looks way better.

So my plan is to cut/bend the steel to match the old style, but instead of screwing it to the body and bolting it to the bumper, i'm going to weld it solid so the bumper is one uniform piece and independent of the rear quarter panels of the body.

Gotcha. Now I'm on board. Yeah, I'm with you on that one. Old style looks way better. I could moreso see the point of the new style if the Jeep had quarter armor, but without it, it's a little bulbous.

Update - I ordered the DIY tire carrier add-on for my bumper! Looking forward to finally getting the spare tire out of my rear and regaining my cargo space!

lol nope. I got back and was checking out BF deals, and noticed they had added it back to the site for ordering, so I jumped on it before they removed it from the manufacturing queue again

Opened this build thinking "jeez, 94 pages, no way am I going to actually go through it all." Just finsihed scanning over the build. I'm just 2 hrs away so maybe we will meet one day. Build is great, it'll be a lot easier to keep up now that i'm updated on it. Hope to see that bumper on soon haha.

Yea probably let it blow up before rebuilding lol. We''ll see I hope to be buying a house with a garage soon so hopefully this won't be my DD much longer and I can tear it apart for some real projects . I'd be nice to pick up another engine and rebuild it stroker style on the side

So if someone wanted to propose marriage to your jeep, how exactly would they go about that? I'm uh, asking for a friend...
