Project UNDERKILL 87 Comanche
So i figured it is time to start another build thread for my other Comanche.
I have a lot planned for this MJ with budget in mind.
A couple of highlights are as follows so you have an idea of what Im working with.
4.0 High Output swap
Wagoneer Dana 44 front
Wagoneer AMC 20 rear
Slip Yoke Eliminator
94 XJ interior swap with sound bar
Very solid truck not really much rust.
The front axle was swapped in by leaf spring conversion with revolver shackles but Im loosing that set up.
Right now I am in the process of doing a coil conversion on the front axle attached to an Iron Rock 3-Link and double shear tracbar set up.
High Steer heavy duty crossover steering is already in place so i dont have to mess with that. Although I do plan to fab up Hydro assist for under $150
I plan to do a triangulated four link coil conversion in the rear some point after the front axle is done Ive been collecting parts.
I have four pre runner shocks with 5/8" shafts for it but I was thinking homeade coilovers somewhere down the line Ive come across a thread where someone made some up a long time ago but cant remember where.

Interior.
Also note the switch on the side of the console, that kills the TCU and allows you to lock it in 1 only. Or turn it back for stock configuration.
Best mod ever that took 15 mins! No more shifting into 2 loosing momentum.

Few random shots of rear axle, dual exhaust.... forgot to mention the axles are geared to 4:10 with a rear locker.

So I have a 93 4.0 tore down to the block.
Comp Xtreme 4x4 Cam, lifters, valve springs and .030 pistons laying around.
Also have a fuel injected 318 with all the wiring laying around for a rainy day as well lol.
Im just waiting to stumble across a good 258 crank and rods so i can get the block machine do some porting and put it together.

Drivers bucket.
Still have to make up plates for the coils to rest on.
Im trying to build something that can survive some air time and heavy abuse so im using some heavy steel for everything.
Front axle is also getting a boxed truss from bucket to bucket with gussets for the C's and whatever else I find neccessary to do.
Its probably hard to see but if you look at the yoke I twisted the U-Joint straps off the same ride I bent the main. I got the U Bolt kits from Advance Auto for front and rear.

I got my boxed truss started got that about 1\4 of the way finished. I also bought a new upper control arm bushing and made a sleeve for it. Once I finish my truss I can make brackets to weld the sleeve on for the upper. I have to make templates yet for the lower control arm brackets. I can't wait to actually bolt the three link to the axle. While I have the axle out to finish weld it I also need to put a left inner axle seal in the differential. So I have to pull the hubs, shafts, carrier it sucks and I hate it a lot. You have to be very careful because they need to seat square and to the right depth when you put the new one in because it will leak if it isn't perfect I had that happen to me before and I was ready to scrap the damn jeep when I seen a pool of gear lube under it after I drove the next day.
But that's where I'm at I'll post pics of progress soon

Thanks dude!
I actually hate the camo paint, I don't know why but it bugs me lol.
I want to spray it satin black someday but its the least of my worries right now.
I want to get the front and rear suspension done first.
Just got steel today to make the bridge on the rear axle to put the upper control arm brackets on.
Its not going to be that bad I don't think to do up the rear I already have it all planned out in my head.
I'm going to have to relocate the gas tank.
I was thinking about putting a fuel cell in the tool box.
I have a trany, oil, and power steering cooler to put on what are your thoughts of mounting the radiator in the bed with dual cooling fans?
Free up some room for the stack of coolers I have?
Please thoughts and opinions will be helpful!
There are two AX15's in the you pull it for $150 a peice I would like the get one and have that engine put together for spring.
Not only will this be wheeled but I want to do some mud races as well it needs to be reliable so I'm keeping that in mind.
