I flipped my XJ at the sand dunes we have here in Michigan over the summer. I was crushed the day it happened because I had been working on it for months to get it in the shape I wanted. Once I get my depressed head out of my depressed a##, I decided I would find a donor and rebuild! Figured I would start a thread to document the process. The silver one is what I had, the blue one is the donor. Jeep right side up, no problem Jeep not right side up, big problem... Savage AF Good thing I replaced the windshield day of... The Donor at the sellers house on the east side of the state Delivered to my place, he removed the front axle prior to sending it Pulled the both axles out of mine because the donor had ABS and the Dana 35, and no front axle. My wife thought it was funny to capture a pic of me under the hood getting the front axle set Both axles in and 4.5" lift kit installed Pulled everything all at once out of the silver one, then separated the tranny and engine outside of the Jeep Engine before regasketing everything All new gaskets, Banks header installed and ready to drop in New timing cover as well Goin in! We have an engine!
Engine is pretty much all set. Have to bolt up the Y-pipe, install the battery and aux battery, hook up tranny lines, and fill up the fluids, then she should be ready to start! Next step after getting it running will be tearing into the interior which I'm not really looking forward to
Nice to see some life come out of that wreck. I remember seeing it on marketplace or one the facebook groups after it happened. Bummer for sure! Doing anything differently on this build up from the your last setup?

I have the aux battery setup so I will eventually get air lockers/compressor, have everything to Raptor liner it dark blue, a rear bumper with swing out ready to install, installed the Banks header while I had the engine out, have a rear disc conversion on the way, will probably install SYE before winter if possible, have aftermarket T-case linkage to install, and I am sure I will continue to do things but that's all I have planned for now lol

Also forgot to mention I upgraded to the 784 injectors that jhc7399 sells on here
Not sure if that means you're running and driving with them yet but how do you like the outcome?
Can't say that yet, still not running, although everything I have read leads me to believe I will be happy with the outcome thanks to the other upgrades I have made. I will report back as soon as I have it running.
Got it pretty much back together. Hood latches aren't working so I will pull that off the silver one, and not getting fuel to the engine so I need to swap sending units after work today. Getting close!
Ok so ran into a snag. The engine isn't getting any fuel. I swapped the sending unit and the under the hood fuse with my wrecked one's because I know they worked. Still nothing. Then I swapped the crank shaft position sensor because I know that can cause that to happen, still nothing. Any suggestions?
Figured I would report back. I got underneath and verified I had power to the pump, so then I started checking grounds. Found several that were making a poor connection, after that problem solved. Lesson learned, check the grounds first!

Seems to run really well with the upgraded injectors. I will have to calculate the MPG still, but seems to like the extra fuel! With the header and thor intake I think the added fuel is really going to help.

OK I lied, didn't get the issue resolved. Was driving it to the mechanic for the front end alignment and she dies on me on the way there, same exact issue. Had it towed to the mechanic anyway, and I think I am gonna let them deal with the electrical issue. I have enough to do with the interior, swapping the bumpers, hurculiner-ing the underbody and doing the rear disc conversion all before it gets too cold lol
