Roni's Rogue4x4 Build...finally!
Ok. I have been on here a good long time, but never started a build thread. Until now. Probably shoulda started this when I did the stroker, and may add pics of all that later. But for now, I'll start it off where I'm currently at. The fun stuff started with the stroker...and now it's continuing.
So, some of you know, I've been hoarding parts for a bit since the stroker build. Been gathering stuff for more than a year. Haven't been able to take the old jeep offline though, as it is my daily. Well, my old man retired, and offered me his car, whilst I rebuild. So, in the words of Wayne and Garth, GAME ON!
This will be a pic heavy thread. There will be a lot of work going on here, that I haven't seen much posted on. I will do my best to document all I can, to help others out in the future...or for anyone to avoid my mistakes, LOL
So here's where I'm at currently...this will be the fourth suspension revamp on this rig, that I know of...PO did a **** job of it, and I assume it went from stock to what he did, then on to me. When I got it, it had blocks on the back springs, and several leafs were split. Got rid of that junk. Built some bastard packs, did some 150 coils, with spacers (already on) and some RC adjustable control arms (complete garbage, but have lived with them, until now)...
So, on to the fun stuff...how it sat as of today.
Right before teardown.
Rear bumper off...notice the use of the engine hoist, they're good for more than just engines, folks! LOL
Gas tank out...
Removing sliders..
Sliders out!
Front bumper/winch removed..
All armor/recovery on the ground...
Took the time to remove the LED rock light setup I had on there...never used it, but a couple of times, and the wires were junking up the engine bay. Never did get around to cleaning it up. So it went buh-bye...Salad, you'll appreciate this...as you gave me crap (deservedly so) during my stroker build...besides, I ran all the wires through the frame rails, and they would've burned up or melted during future work...
Look better, Ross? LMAO
Then I took the opportunity to pull all my new parts together...hadn't been done until today...cooler pics of this ahead...
Got it jacked up, and put the stands under it...the ones under the axle will be removed for future work...
So...yeah, the suspension, ball joints, hubs and u joints WILL be getting replaced, LMAO
A couple of pics on the stands...okay it was a beer break.
Guess I'm replacing my sleeper snorkel intake hose...
Gettin' the calipers/rotors off....safety wire pliers are your friend...
Then I laid out all the new parts going in, in an exploded view, on the driveway...way cool IMHO, and an indicator of how much work is actually ahead of me, HAHA!!!
Just 'lil ole me hanging with my ride...
...and so much for a clean garage, LMFAO!!!
Anywho, that's it for now. Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!

Guess I should list what all is going in, huh?
So, from front to back...
Serious 1 ton OTK steering
JKS OTK trackbar with weld on axle side bracket, and RE frame side bracket
(not pictured, RE front bumpstops, and RE BPE's)
Teraflex extended SS front brake lines
RE 5.5 lift coils
DBO front frame stiffeners
RS mids
RockKrawler 3 link
DBO rear frame stiffeners
RE degree shims
RE centering pins
Teraflex extended SS rear brake line
RE 4.5 rear leafs, with all new mount h/w from RE
RE boomerang shackles
What I haven't gotten yet-ball joints, u joints and hubs for the front, I'll get those when needed, shocks (thinking Bilstein 7100's), and seriously considering doing the disc brake swap when I do the rear...might as well whilst I have it all out anyways, right?

Been itching all week to do work. Brought some stuff home from work, again, to assist in getting it done. Bad news is they are predicting rain this weekend. Good news is it's supposed to be overnight, LOL
Plan for tomorrow is get the front end out. Then any interior that needs to come out for welding the stiffies. With any luck, I hope to be prepping metal for the stiffeners by Sunday. Stay tuned.
