Full hydro is kind of scary at speed. I just pieced together my assist and I think i'm right around 150. That's hoses fittings and 2"x 8" stroke cylinder. East coast gear sells a kit fit like 250 I believe

Hydro will not stress the ball joints if done correctly... just makes them twist... people run full hydro on D44's and assist without issues, even the toyota axles... I wouldn't worry about it, or let that make any bit of your dissicion.
I'm not worried about the inspection.... I'm not worried about the ram overextending and breaking them, I'm worried about my tire being wedged in something and the force of full hydro ripping the knuckle off. Then again hydro assist could very well do that also.

Ya that's what I have read is that full hydro gets twitchy at higher speeds. Ill have to check that kit out, thanks.
Well I'm 90% sure I'm gonna do hydro assist but.... I'm still thinkin ha. I already ordered my steering kit from ballistic fab so there's 160$ down the drain if I do go full hydro.

just to chime in on the steering issue..full hydro sucks on the street, twitchy as hell..no steering feed back, and the wheel wont return to center(ya know when you drift..and you slack up on the wheel as the car starightens out)..ya ..that dont happen with hydro.

I was up in there air myself bc i still wanted to drive it on the street. After driving my buddy's tj on mogs with full hydro I made up my mind. That was scary at like 30+ lol. Especially with rear steer.

If you got the steering kit from Ballistic, expect your DOM to arive like a month after the joints.

Yeah same. I have been prying at their website for a while. They have some awesome stuff i want. And if you ever need DOM, or any other stuff, get a quote from wherever and then let me get a quote from my work. I could buy it for you for loads cheaper.
